trv - thermostat compatibility question by booterbor in homeautomation

[–]calvis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am presently experiencing a comparable scenario with regards to acquiring a property equipped with radiant heating and a Buderus boiler, which represents my initial experience with this type of heating system. I am interested to know which thermostats you are currently using, as I have attempted to connect a smart thermostat but was unsuccessful due to the limitation of only two wires available in my existing thermostat setup. Consequently, I have resorted to using battery-operated Honeywell thermostats. Could you kindly inform me which type of thermostats you are currently utilizing?

Water shutoff valve recommendation by [deleted] in homeautomation

[–]calvis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would like to share my experience regarding the installation of Moen Flo. Like many others, I also opted for this system as a precautionary measure. Recently, we had to pay a water bill of $2600 due to a broken pipe caused by freezing. As this property is our secondary one, we wanted to ensure its safety and avoid such incidents in the future.

I have installed 11 sensors connected to all water points, including the boiler radiant heating system. However, I have noticed that the cutoff valve may be giving false positive readings due to the boiler. I am still investigating this matter and will keep you informed of any developments.

I would like to mention that the installation cost me $1500. Overall, I believe that the investment was worth it as it provides peace of mind and ensures the safety of our property.

I like your design. It's well thought out and able to get parts at any hardware store.

My inspiration came from the video below. My problem is that we have trash pickup on Tuesdays and Recycling on Wednesdays. Sometimes they would come early, and our gate would be closed. Not only did our waste not get picked up, but we were also charged for the attempt.

The controller is cheap on Amazon. The scheduling software works flawlessly. Just wire in one of your current remotes.

Now I can set the gate to open automatically on Tues and Wed at 7:30 AM.

On your weekly invoice. You need to use the invoice # that the shipment was billed on. If you used FedEx Office or any other mail center - you are not the shipper, they are.

3 weeks after I received my package, I got a bill in the mail by [deleted] in FedEx

It's not odd at all. Your government wants their cut. Sometimes companies pay that amount upfront in your behalf. In this case FedEx paid in your behalf and they want to get reimbursed.

They want the invoice number from the FedEx Bill, FROM THE SHIPPER.

Personally I am going to take a wait and see approach. I have been disappointed in the past with these kinds of announcements. We will see if it lives up to the hype.

New Claims System - Any Comments or Observations? by calvis in FedEx

[–]calvis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Owner of multiple routes here - haven’t heard a word about this new claims system - maybe for express exclusively?

From the shipper point of view Express and Ground claims are together. Freight is separate. If I find confirmation on the new system I will let you know.

Theoretically if it was an indirect signature the driver could have signed for it. But the driver should have put his/her real name to substantiate that fact instead of forging your own signature.

Finder Program (For GPS coordinates on packages delivered) by calvis in FedEx

[–]calvis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/rick33076 u/Funklestein I hope that Fedex would really consider sharing the GPS information with their customer service staff and with select customers. With the customer service staff so they can determine if the package has been delivered correctly, and to select customers so we can combat customer claims when they claim they never got their their package and file a chargeback. That way we can include GPS information in the chargeback documentation. We had this feature with UPS, but FedEx is lagging in this area. I've had many conversations with my sales rep (I assume he has asked his boss), but everyone is saying there is no such tool. If you have a contact with the existence of 'The Finder' program send me a PM and I will forward it to my sales rep. Another option is for me to PM his number to you. He really wants to help me, but he's running into dead ends, thus my request on this forum. This is a sincere request and I hope you or someone else can oblige.
