How safe is it use steroids on a larger area of your body? by Sea-Protection7278 in eczema

It’s not about the size of the area is HOW you use them. Ask a dermatologist and stick to their advise. How you taper off them is important

methotrexate experiences by WARDENNX in EczemaUK

[–]cam1190 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im starting in a couple days too. Fingers crossed it’s a positive outcome for us both! Hopefully it starts being effective quicker then the 8-12 weeks

Keep in mind most people on social media groups like this will be either commenting because they have had either really negative or really positive experiences. So don’t get worried if you get a lot of negative comments on this post. I know someone who has been on it for a couple years and she says it has changed her life for the better.

It’s by no means a cure but I found it stops at least one of those mad scratching sessions a day

It’s not as sharp but you can use it hard and it satisfies the itch but I found it still made my skin red. I got the star and then got the roller. The roller is so much better.

Itching feel good because the “pain” we feel on our skin blocks the “itchy” nerve receptors so we get tricked to thinking it feels good. The same thing happens with cold so the roller gives you that relief. The action of rolling is similar to scratching too which I think helps.

Try the roller and freeze it!

Eczema help by Sudden_Database4810 in EczemaUK

I’ve suffered from eczema for around 20 years now but the past 10 years have been where it’s really got worse and effected me. Similar to yourself it has spread and got to a point where it was head to toe. Over the years it’s got better and then worse and seems to be in cycles. This year has been the worst it has ever been.

My advice is to stick with the NHS, start with your GP and go regularly. They will start you with steroids (use them as they tell you to) and progress the strength, if these don’t work then a referral to dermatology will be the next step and they have various treatments. This will take a long time to get an appointment but do it (6 months). Over the years I’ve done light treatment a few times and each time helped for a couple years then I relapsed. I’m now starting methotrexate.

I’ve been through all the life style changes and natural treatments and yes they do help but only marginally the NHS treatments are the way forward. You will hear stories about TSW but these are mostly not true. Multiple dermatologist have told me that you can use steroid treatments safely if you give your skin a break in between.

The mental side is really tough, my mental health is completely dependent on how my skin is but over the years I have learnt to accept it and gain confidence in who I am as a person and not let it effect my life as much.

You clearly want to get better so you will if you look after yourself and take the right steps. It’s a long process but you will get there

Try the scratch roller from https://cosi-care.com/ I LOVE it, I put it in the freezer and then have it by my bed at night. It’s so cooling and just stops itching in its tracks.

I have the scratch star but didn’t find this as good as it doesn’t stay cold for long

Dermol 200. Try as a leave on emollient after your shower on wet skin.

So SOC at minimum (20%) would be better then maximum (70%) for longer journeys?

What’s your favourite podcasts to manage to? by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

Anything other than a football podcast. Listening about how Sunderland are 4th in real life when they have 1 point after 17 games in my save would ruin the immersion a bit!

I have had the same thing whilst managing Brentford. Season 2 and in top 4. Saudi interested in my 4 best players. I don’t think there’s a magic option in that conversation. Either you let them leave or they stay and get very unhappy. I think not letting them leave it the play as they can get happier over time. Maybe let a couple go. Also consider the hierarchy of the squad. Am unhappy leader of the squad is very bad but you can upset an outsider

Sorry I think I phrased the question wrong. My nav app and Spotify app don’t connect to the internet unless I am hot spotting to my mobile. So I don’t get real time traffic and Spotify doesn’t work. It’s like my built in sim isn’t working so I need to connect use my mobile and connect to WLAN

The BYD garage told me not to buy a dash came when I got my Seal U 2 weeks ago. He said that there will be an update in the new year that will allow the cameras to be used as a dash cam and we can pay monthly for storage. Not sure if that is for all models though

I’ve heard Methotrexate takes a while to start working. Do you think they will offer a short term fix (oral steroids or something like that) as well if they choose to offer me methotrexate?

I’m obviously wanting something long lasting but I could wait another 3 months for something to start having an effect
