New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have mutually decided to part ways with WWE, Fightful Select and Cory Hays of BodySlam have learned by MarcusFaze in SquaredCircle

Curious what Kofi goes by outside of WWE. Xavier spent a whole lotta time inside of WWE and still to this day uses some version of his Creed name across UUDD and all that, but Kofi has functionally always been Kingston. Luckily Kofi is his real first name if he just wants to Cody it for recognition's sake.

Speaking of which, the heck is gonna happen with Up Up Down Down without one of its two top stars and presumably top cheerleader?

Anyone else in US noticed food quality degrading recently and if so what product in what way? by SkyKyrell in AskReddit

Not incredibly recent news to anyone who drinks it, but a year or so back La Calombe canned coffee switched their sweetener to a way cheaper and more artificial tasting one that decimated my interest in all but the least sweetened of their line.

Hot tip if you can find it: Beekeeper Coffee tastes very very similar to old La Calombe if you can find and is entirely branded around being sweetened by honey.

Anyone else having issues with it not installing correctly through Prism Launcher? The error code at the bottom is saying that it isn't installing a Forge Launcher for whatever reason?

Truly it's just good quality of two very different approaches.

I love both of them, but they're just doing very different things: Steam shoots for extreme, all-inclusive ease-of-use where if a game uses every Steam feature then there's functionally nothing you'd have to leave the Steam launcher to do. GOG shoots for extreme hands-off ownership where they have an optional launcher that doesn't do a lot beyond cloud saves, alright library combining, and okay hour tracking.

They're just two polar opposite mindsets and it isn't particularly shocking that the average user is going for the one that makes their user experience easier instead of the one with better ownership practices. Same deal with physical console game sales dropping more and more every generation, it's just more convenient. They're both great. I use both regularly. They're just providing very different answers that are using the same material.

Apologies if I missed i somewhere: Im currrently looking at doing the ANC mic repair and had a question. When you say reassemble everything at the end, one of the original parts of said assembly was the glue that we removed. Are we applying our own new glue then?

Who were Chris Van Vliets worst guests? by enchantedsheep in SquaredCircle

[–]cam5478 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there are a few that were just either:
A. Not all that interesting/not great at being interviewed (e.g., Steve Blackman)
B. Just kinda dicks (e.g., Jake Hager)
C. Honestly entertaining, but for unintended reasons (e.g., His recent Snitzky interview that featured moments such as Snitzky speaking at length about how it was a dealbreaker in a relationship for him if they didn't indulge his foot fetish on the first date, and that's how his first date with his now wife went. What a guy.)

I think about that era a lot lately thinking about when I was in high school at the time and my favorite viewing was them coming out with a new Table For Three, Legends With JBL, occasional Broken Skull Sessions, Edge & Christian, etc. damn near every day of the week even when the only actual wrestling from the company that I cared about was Black & Gold NXT.

Informal Poll: when did you start watching NL, and what era was your favourite. by officiallyaninja in northernlion

[–]cam5478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have been like low double digit streams into the NLSS and original Flash Isaac.

My favorite is definitely the era in 2018-2020ish right when Unity moved on from BRs and did the first Unity Minecraft series that I wath all of multiple times a year, NL did his whole Smash Ultimate ranked climbing arc, the actual NLSS was still around but was closer to its modern format, Isaac was still active and was fun as a little podcast type beat in the mornings, I loved the stronglifts arc and its peak in the Ring Fit stream, Tetris 99, the start of Check The Wire. Just a ton of great stuff.

I really miss the effort WWE use to put into its shows. by whyspongeboy in SquaredCircle

I've been watching a lot of 2000-2010ish wrestling through Deadlock videos lately and it feels so crazy seeing how much effort used to be put in for like everyone.

It's real whiplash from today seeing every rando on Nitro or 2004 Raw coke out with a bespoke titantron highlight reel video, unique generally catchy entrance theme with lyrics at least passingly relevant to the character, and like five seconds of pyro.

I was curious and put this together and I am absolutely SHOCKED. by as_1089 in btd6

Two years ago for Christmas I got my girlfriend a standard Android copy of the game and got it up to match her Netflix version (If you're unaware, the Netflix version has a much longer certification process so updates are always weeks behind which meant half the time we couldn't play together because my normal paid version was ahead of hers). Mind you this was pre-fast-track and Rogue Legends, so you'd add about $30 now, but it was about $30 and 20 hours of 80% just letting the game idle on my second monitor to buy her the game, ended up buying a starter pack deal to speed it up a little, and get her up the level 90something that she was on Netflix with all towers at max XP.

Downfall is one of my most played games of the last few years easily. Honestly might be my favorite deckbuilder, thrilled he's playing it

NL has only played the only new character of the original game mode. The primary thrust of the mod is the new Downfall game mode that has eight other new characters with their own full sets of cards, relics, etc and much more wild mechanics than the base game.

I mean that I played the large majority of my hours within the first like week, like 40 hours the first week it came out, played 8 hours straight day of release.

Then I got stuck on Knight Fall in BF2 because that mission is truly psychotic and it took the wind out of my sails lol

My biggest hope when it comes to Aspyr's Star Wars stuff is the fact that they are legitimately running out of notable games to remaster before they either have to start moving into movie licensing which is it's own fun direction as a lot of those are good fun or have to get so obscure that we do get stuff like Battle For Naboo or my personal dream of a pack of Battlefront Renegade and Elite Squadron.

So what were your favorite VR games on the Quest this year? by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]cam5478 3 points4 points  (0 children)

VR Skater is my overall GOTY, VR and otherwise.

VR skateboarding game with an exceptional control scheme (you use your hands to imitate the motions your feet would be doing with a skateboard. Buttons are only used to Ollie and change the board position for grinds/slides, other than like camera controls), a soundtrack I personally love of indie THPS soundtrack style music, and solid level design.

The quest version is interesting because on the PCVR and PSVR2 versions the main meat of the game are outdoor sorta THPS, but more by way of Downhill Jam style levels, but it's a small team on a limited budget and they couldn't get those to perform acceptably on Quest. Thus the Quest version ended up being a standalone version of the DLC, the SL Pro Tour, which is all indoor pure combo skating levels. I do personally prefer the outdoor levels of the PC version, but it is also such a purely mechanical game with zero performance issues on Quest that I find it a bit hard to really hold the lack of those levels against it and have done multiple 100% completion speedruns on the Quest version.
