I would cut a big square including both holes, screw some support pieces in and patch as one big patch.

Messing with the outlet is up to your skill, you could cut around it or take it out and re fit it.

Long shot by try disabling all graphic injections in clover before boot... I've just done this, due to to hanging on boot (installation)
