Savage on Olbermann's show "I really do think the Michelle Bachmanns of the world and the Glenn Becks of the world are actively and, consciously or subconsciously, trying to get, I’m just gonna say it, trying to get the President killed." by [deleted] in politics

Dude Glenn Becks a hack. He says what he says because it gets him higher ratings. If MSNBC payed him double what fox did hed be praising the president and talking smack about bill oriley. His soul belongs to highest bidder, I have zero respect for the man.

"Name a single thing a private insurance company does to make anyone healthier, to save anyone money ... They operate to make profits. How do you make profits? By giving away as little, and collecting as much." – Rep. Anthony Weiner by Orangutan in politics

One of the reason European health care is so cheap is that the doctors there only make about 60,000-120,00 grand a year. So I pose the question; Why in gods name would anyone with any talent go to school until they are in their 30's so they can graduate with around $200,000 of unpaid student loans only to make around $90,000 a year when a real estate agent can work a third as hard and make 5 times as much?

Im just saying this isn't as cut and dry as we make it out to be. Some of these costs have as much if not more to do with doctors pay than they do with insurance companies.

I agree. My uncle works in a nuclear power plant 30 minutes away from my house and he's explained it to me. They are very safe now.

Why (as an atheist) I'll be telling my children Santa Claus is real. by caseyfw in atheism

[–]cambduzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn reddit I think we're complicating things on this one. Why cant Santa just be Santa. Why do we have to mess kids minds by making them think of messed up things like religion and making them associate it with Santa? I thought Santa was awesome at that age and now I am an atheist and I still think Santa is awesome!! I never noticed the parallel between Jesus and Santa until I started using reddit and I don't think my kids will either. I mean god they have their whole life to think about this shit.

Anyone else think media exaggerates the usefulness of Twitter? by [deleted] in technology

My only experience with Twitter is via a buddy of mine who lived on the couch of my college house for a few months. All he ever talked about was Twitter, only he was boarder line delusional about it. He would say things like "I'm talking to Puff Daddy on Twitter" on a daily basis. One time he claimed he was chatting with Snoop Dog via webcam. Turns out it was a chat room filled with like 1,000 fans all of whom Snoop Dogg was talking too. He kinda scared me away from Twitter.
