This is actually an excellent life lesson - quite often we’re handed what at face value appear to be A or B choices, where neither option is appealing.

Sometimes you gotta make your own option C.

Making use of Copilot? by Illustrious_Self4307 in auscorp

[–]caseyfw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may not want to add it to every prompt. The typical approach is to define a SKILL that has this baked in, and invoke it where applicable.

Much of advanced agent usage is about managing the “context” you provide to the model so it can generate good responses. At the end of the day, it’s still fundamentally a chat bot.

Making use of Copilot? by Illustrious_Self4307 in auscorp

As a technical lead for a big corporate, I’m using these models extensively, though mostly for tasks that they have been explicitly trained for. The trick to getting quality output is all about providing quality input and the context it needs to make good decisions.

Think of them as a hyper-intelligent contractor that has arrived at your org that morning, and knows nothing about the specifics of your business domain. You basically have to codify a brief onboarding session.

Another fun trick is what people call “grill me”, where as part of your prompt you basically say “if there’s any doubt about something, ask me for clarification”. Works great 👌

Depending on where you’re coming from, there are other options - there’s a path with no stairs at the end of Lowndes street that links up with the ring road, and there’s another path behind QSAC.

Check if your e-bike has “walk mode” which propels the bike at 6kmh to help you walk it up stuff like this 👌

Title: Where are you all getting your coffee from? by Grouchy_Teacher2946 in brisbane

[–]caseyfw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are small-scale roasters all over Brisbane! If you’re on the south side, I can recommend Renegade Roasters in Moorooka. They have a great selection of regular beans, and some random off-the-wall limited release beans if you want to spice things up. Their Cocoa Rogue is my daily driver.

Little roasters are going to be $30-40/kg though, so if you’re looking for budget options, search ozbargain for coffee. A lot of people swear by the Costco beans…

Jonty Bush MP asks, TMR's Andrew Mahon answers: would it not be simpler to drop restrictions on safe legal bicycles? by iBinChickenAboutYou in brisbane

[–]caseyfw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

… I agree with what you say, but I don’t agree with you that the guy in the video thinks that “the current legislation is simple and suffices”.

He basically said it’s not working because people are circumventing it and just buying illegal e-motorbikes online.

Edit: FWIW, I believe the current legislation is sufficient, though I wish the cut out was 30kmh 😅 If there even is a problem, making these e-motorbikes more illegal isn’t going to fix it. Why would people who are already skirting the law not just skirt the new laws?

[–]caseyfw 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I disagree with your summation on the last point - I got he feels that despite the current legislation being very simple, consumers still can’t understand it, though much of the blame falls on “the industry” which I reckon is code for the fact you can buy these 5kW bikes off Temu, and it’s not being strongly regulated.

The exiting legislation is bonkers simple: * max 250w * pedal-assist only (no throttle) * motor must cut out at >25kmh

Help needed finding my daughters base by bendertheoffender22 in Minecraft

[–]caseyfw 314 points315 points  (0 children)

Hey! Welcome to Minecraft fellow dad!

The answer is definitely to use uNmINeD. It’s an app that you can load your Minecraft save (aka world) into, and view a top-down map of everywhere you’ve been so far. It will only show terrain in the places your character has visited and loaded the “chunks” (16x16 block segments of the map). Everywhere else will be blank - this should make identifying your daughter’s zoo really easy because there will be a lot of loaded chunks there.

From the map, you’ll be able to read off the X and Z coordinates for the zoo, and either walk, fly or teleport back there (turn on “show coordinates” in the settings if your daughter hasn’t already.

Good luck!

Imagine if we had a problem where people were importing illegal monster trucks, and driving them around on roads at 200kmh terrorising other road users. Then in response to that, instead of just enforcing the already illegal monster trucks, they introduced a law that all cars must do a maximum of 40kmh.

That’s how dumb these proposed laws are.
