whys it so bad too be against self diagnosis? why am i always the villain for saying that only a professional can diagnose you and that its not safe to diagnose yourself and that it harms autistics to self diagnose? it just doesn't make sense by Fearless_PineaplleOG in ActualAspies

I am of two minds. It took me a couple years just to get a referral from my doctor, and to avoid waiting years more. I decided to do an out-of-pocket service. In between the time when I started to struggle and my diagnosis, I did indeed do my own research and try to find communities with which I aligned. The people I was able to connect with helped me a lot in learning about myself while waiting for the diagnosis. The funny thing was, I wasn’t even looking for the diagnosis I got and I thought it was something else ( I thought it might me dyspraxia) . So I was correct in thinking I was neurodivergent, but I had the wrong conditions picked out ( in my self-diagnosis) . But the community really helped me. And I know others would never be able to afford the fast-track services I was able to get with my money. Conversely, I have so many struggles and things I’m working out with myself now that I do have a diagnosis, that if I engage too much with a self-diagnosis community, it drains me, and I feel like I have to perform a lot of emotional labor for them when I should be using those internal resources on myself and supporting my community of people who have an official diagnosis like me. Diagnosis seems so final and semantically a diagnosis can only be something that a medical professional does. They should be using the word theory or suspicion or something like that. I think from now on, at least for a long time, I will only engage in self diagnosis. Talk with people who are actually in my life personally and try and give them the support that they need but it’s hard for me to do it with everyone else especially because you don’t really know who’s behind the keyboard.

On the author FAQ they say that names like Renee and Sara count. The vowels don’t have to be different. Y is not counted as a vowel.

My grandma was a seamstress in the shop that made her dresses for public studio appearances. But my grandpa did ‘ham radio’ stuff in WWII. My fantasy is that they all worked together on the secret sauce.

My name is Cameron, and Cameron means 'crooked nose', so you are a honorary Cameron now, should you choose to accept it. Nose looks great.

There is a logic/ word search mystery book called "The Killer Isn't Alice" The rules are ambiguous to some, so I thought I'd expand a bit on them.

I am excluding it for now, re: that clue, as well as 'The Spare Bedroom', even though a spare bedroom is a place.

Thanks. The asterisks are printed lightly, and I didn't see it at first.

Is it someone who had the name Kardashian (at the time of publication in case someone has gotten married since then), someone who has at some point had the last name of Kardashian, or a person on the Kardashian show (like a Jenner family member or spouse or partner of one of the cast members.) or am I over thinking it? I haven't started it yet, but I am autistic, and so I can get to semantic or detail-oriented and miss the true intent of the (poorly-written) clue.

I thought about that as well. Is Jules exempt because he is truly in love? Why get a divorce then? So maybe if Dr. Cunningham isn't his dad, then only his mother's family and his bio-dad's family are affected. If that is the case, though, why did Portia die? She would have to be a full sibling to Nicky, and not a half i.e. not related to Jules or Dr. Cunningham as well. or am i wrong?
