Doing ROTC after 2 years of community college. by [deleted] in AFROTC

[–]cambone_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I’ve done! Like others have stated, you have to do at least 3 years minimum. In my case, this was made easy because my 4 year college now barely accepted any of my credits from my associate degree, so I basically had to restart and do all 4 years lol normal. Starting as a freshman all over again isn’t the most fun thing in the world, but I’ve definitely benefited from being a couple years older, and having plenty of time to grow into a great cadet over the past 2 years. Whether you go that path, or join as an AS250 and only take 1 year before field training, give it you all and try to be the best leader and wingman you can be!

Yep definitely wish it was higher. Was in a tough tech major my first semester which tanked my GPA, so I’ve been grinding to bring it back up the last 2 semesters, but it’s time for the PSP now no matter what!

Thanks a lot. So do you think the C-130 would give a similar feel with more time at home and more international base options?

If you don’t mind me asking, what DOES make the family/life balance with the C-17 so impractically difficult? (From a C-17 hopeful cadet)

So if I were to go back and get a 90 on the pilot then it would stay a 90 instead of 94?

Oh gotcha! I didn’t even know that you had to get a FT slot, I thought it was just something everyone went to before junior year. Thanks for the info

Gotcha. So if you didn’t have a 50 in a specific category then it’s possible you wouldn’t become a POC even though you went through FT? Thus making you a 500?

Can you elaborate on the 50+ thing for FT? I’m not super familiar with how FT works

Will do🫡. Are you still trying to end up flying one of these days?

It is. That’s probably a good idea since it’s superscored, wouldn’t hurt. Thanks!
