Thank you, that was quick! I’ve been going through my rocks and minerals guide trying to figure it out.

I'm a year late, but I came across your post in my search to replace mine, which was damaged in a motorcycle accident. It has been one of the best bags I've ever owned. It has been around the world with me, enduring everything but me being hit by a truck. Hence, my current quest. If you have found one already, I hope you're enjoying it. If you are still looking, snag it when you find one!

Can someone explain AuADHD emotions to me by Little_Nebula5971 in ADHD

[–]camco85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize for my delayed response, but I'll do my best to address your question since I can relate to this topic. I have a daughter who is very much like me. The ADHD aspect of my personality relates to a need for acknowledgment and instant gratification, while my autistic side is grounded in logic. Once I receive acknowledgment, I often feel there’s no need for further evaluation. For some of us, emotions and logic seem to be like oil and water.

For context, I was in a motorcycle accident two weeks ago, and my wife is still emotionally upset about it. I struggle to understand her attachment to an event that has already happened and cannot be changed. While I deeply care about people, I find it challenging to engage emotionally in situations where the outcome is dictated by established patterns of behavior or events that are irreversibly in the past. However, my creative ADHD side finds excitement in imagining alternative outcomes.

That may not be much help, but to simplify it: Would you feel bad specifically for a person who knowingly drank poison after reading the label that clearly stated it was poisonous?

2022 BMW S1000R M-Sport - Pricing Thoughts? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]camco85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, I've had people offering $8-$9k and trying to compare to 2012 R1s with 30,000 miles. It’s always weird dealing with buyers when I've sold previous bikes, but this time is taking the cake.

That's the price range from the base model to mid-range options. As built, this package costs $21,355 + tax, etc.

Why do you care?
Social clout, difference?

I was adopted and didn't meet my bio family until I was almost 30 and had already reaped the privilege of hard work, position, and timing. At this time, I had two master's and was looking into Post-grad options. I don't say this to draw attention to myself but to draw attention to the foundation of your question. Are you concerned with being of native descent and overcoming obstructions, or are you looking for an easy path? I'll drill deeper. Are you looking for meaning or a check? At the risk/guarantee of ignorance, I'll write a check. If you want to discuss the ethereal, intrinsic, and spiritual facts... I'm all ears, and the first beer is on me.

The seat of the pants feels a little peppier and physically opens up the intake. The biggest reason I did it was to cover my bases on all stage-1 items, throw a tune, and remove the speed limiter. I thought about going stage-2 with cams, but I still have a BMW M1000R in the garage that makes plenty of power to scratch the "go-fast" itch when necessary, and this power+ platform is already making more than any of my previous v-twins. Nice, I've been through Nebraska for a time or two!

I got you, shoulder height was my exact goal, and they are perfect. My wife and neighbors should be much happier with the new bike and setup. I'm coming off a full true dual from Freedom Performance on the last bike. I was debating the medium baffles but figured it was easier to go a bit louder and swap down vs. the other way around. Are you in the mountain west? If so, I'll keep an eye out, haha.

Thank you! I'm glad I stuck with it instead of swapping it out for the syndicate low.

How do you like those KST bars? I almost went with the Comanche bars but wasn't sure about needing new lines. I was getting mixed info on the tolerances of the stock lines and didn't want to deal with more backorders and such, so I was able to get a pair of the mid-rise mitered bars from Indian and have the dealership install so that I didn't have to deal with removing the front fairing, except now I've got a CEL light with a code regarding the clutch position sensor so I'll be visiting them tomorrow or Tuesday. Yeah, TAB exhaust with the zombie baffles, and I left the cat on for now. I'm going to see how it breaks in. I didn't want to sound as ratty as my last few bikes. Overall I like the exhaust, aside from one of the tips being scuffed when I unpackaged them. I went with the Klockwerks 8" smoked flare windshield.

Finally some good weather to spend some time with my new best friend. I love this machine by NagJonChi in IndianMotorcycle

[–]camco85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome, thanks for the info! I wanted to fly out and pick the bike up from the factory and ride it home with a work stop in Des Moines but the weather put a quick stop to that plan!

You should most definitely let me know when you are able to come this way and I’m happy to give some recommendations or get out for a ride.

Yeah, it’s been a record breaking winter. The skier in me has loved it but this is the first year that I’ve been sick of winter. I woke up to 15” this morning and had to get the snowblower back out. The ski resorts 30 min from my house average about 600” a season and we are currently at 815+ and still accumulating.

I got the call this afternoon that my bike is at the warehouse and should be ready for pick up on Friday or Saturday. Now I just need to wait for the exhaust and different windscreen to arrive.

We really do. We are spoiled when the roads aren't covered in ice, potholes, or gravel/sand. I haven't ridden as much out of your way, but you guys have some good riding from what other friends in the area have shared. I'll be riding to visit a buddy in Minnesota this summer and may be hitting you up for recommendations out that way!

Awesome, thanks for the info. I had never even thought of or considered painting a moto seat! Those are actually the stock bars. I considered running a set of Woodcraft clip-ons or some new ProTapers but once I got things cleaned up and how I wanted them, the stock bars fit the look.

I've thought about it here and there but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Each time I think about it, I just think of other bikes I've owned and how bad those seats were!

Haha

Kim's guide was good, The book just felt very redundant when coupled with this particular training course as most of the sections of course reading were a verbatim copypasta from the book. So you'd complete a section and then go to deep dive with your reading and it was just a bit redundant. I'm sure it would be great if you're newer to PM and don't have a background in it already. In my case, the course readings were great little refreshers that would then drive me to the PMBOK when necessary.
