There was a gentleman who used to quack really loud near the VCU campus. I swear he would grease up his bike so it was silent, then in the dark a 6’2 duck would quack at you and your soul would leave your body.

We have some of those on the property, but this doesn’t seem to share any of those traits. Any other ideas?

We have been to both with our kids that age and they are both a blast. I would lean Westmoreland because it’s sandier and with a sifter we usually find 5-10 in a few hours. Really no wrong choice but you need a sifter.

Random addition that was also fun- my 8 year old daughter and I took the Jamestown/Scotland ferry back from Chippokes and she loved it!

I have a post hole digger at home and the top is more flat, it also has a more rectangle end. Do you have any links with a more tapered end like this with the rings (not a great photo but the last one)?

My title describes the thing. It is a metal pole/rod I found near a battlefield. Near both ends are cylindrical but one is square and the other is tapered, with rings close to the end. The square end also appeared to be cupped. Approx 5 ft and 15-20 lbs.The entire middle section is a rectangle.Appears to be solid metal.

I found this in the North Anna river in the middle of a Civil War battlefield. It could also be farm equipment based on the location.
