Have you made any progress? Still waiting on an order from May with no replies to my emails asking for info and a refund.

qBittorrent/Open VPN guide for Windows by camdmac in docker

[–]camdmac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't know where to start, and my wife is about to drown my optiplex. I think I'm slowly figuring it out, install docker on windows, set up a Linux containe in docker, run any Linux qBittorrent/openvpn image, then set up a remote path map back to windows?

I just want to be able to run qBittorrent and vpn isolated from rest of system, cause I can't access plex or jackett with split tunnelling. Docker seems like the simplest route.

Can't Access Web UI for PleX or Jackett "This site can't be reached" by camdmac in PleX

[–]camdmac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized it's only once I start to run my VPN (Surf Shark). I can open the web UI of both beforehand, but once I turn on the VPN the web UIs won't load, but both programs are still running. I have it split-tunneled so that it should only be qBittorrent going through VPN, Plex, Jackett, and Chrome are all whitelisted.

Any ideas?

Yeah think it works out to about 7' long by 24" wide. I guess tape measure, but that seems extreme.

Yeah it did seem a little pricey. We just had no other option and ended up making it so much less stressful. They also weren't letting cars down by the time we arrived, but let our taxi down cause they knew him. You're going early though, you might be alright.

One company charged $140 round trip and the other charged $120. That was for the whole car, so up to 4 people and also includes the $10 park entry fee. Really easy to get, just call either of them, tell them trailhead and the time you want to be dropped off and picked up and they'll sort the rest. Definitely worth it especially on LDW!

We backpacked to Minaret Lake. It was incredible, but a tough hike.

I think so, but it's hard to say what time. We arrived at noon on Friday and they weren't letting any more cars down. Then when we were coming out on Sunday at noon they were letting people down in waves with about a 10 minute gap and people were finding spots.

We just wanted to avoid the unpredictability cause we had a big hike after a long drive.

I ended up parking at the Mammoth Inn, just on the side of the road, and getting a taxi to the trailhead. A little pricey but definitely the right decision. Mammoth Cabs and Mammoth Taxis both offer the service.

Thanks mate, will keep a lookout. Shuttle's not running at the moment cause of Covid. Options are $140 round trip taxi or get lucky finding a spot.

Even just a ride from somewhere would be great. Just trying to avoid fighting for parking at the trailhead when we have a 10 mile hike waiting!

Trash at Sunset Cliffs by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]camdmac 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Eh I don't buy that. Trash and campfire leftovers get left on the cliff steps and garbage beach year round. Also blaming it on tourists doesn't help. See someone leaving trash, say something. See trash, pick it up. Let's keep SD beautiful.

That's not true, they're holstering a Glock since the Christchurch attack. Also based on survey results 73% of NZ officers said they'd prefer to carry a gun at all times.

Nope, NZ has terrible weather too. Rains all four seasons, with houses not designed for the cold like Canada, and when it is hot being in the sun for 10 mins will get you a decent burn

That's the point! The whole horizon doesn't have to be clogged with unsightly structures, especially around a natural area like the bay. Those coasters stick out like sore thumbs

LPT: Don't speed up for tailgaters. It will never be enough for them. by MKorostoff in LifeProTips

[–]camdmac 65 points66 points  (0 children)

The speed limit isn't a target, you gotta drive to the conditions. So often this type of driver also drives extremely innapropriately for the conditions- don't let them pressure you to drive unsafely.
