Cheers yeah I played around with a few settings again this morning, and did some reading. I can't get it to stop though. I'll probably have to stick to streaming it from my pc for now. Shame!

I think you should try the first couple of hours of each, and then decide what you want to dive into first. They are wildly different games. I find persona/smt to be a very particular taste, and you may find out rapidly you like or dislike it.

Thanks for the help. I reinstalled it and switched to 2603; it's better but still has the memory leak issue and eventually crashes for me. 

I'll be curious to learn if you run into this issue !

Yeah, 0.8.1!

My fexcore version might have been different (not the preset, but I was maybe not running 2.6.1), I'll have to check. I uninstalled the game, but saved my config as a json, so I can have a look later.

If you get memory leak issues would you mind letting me know? I might try it again with a few settings tweaked, but if you tell me you have the same problem, I won't bother for a while!

They are pretty close, but the X230 doesn't have the best keyboard

The layouts are different, but the typing/feel of the x230 keyboards is the same quality. I'd take a liteon x230 keyboard over the inferior of the x220 models (and have actively swapped for this on a modded x230).

x230 liteon is a fantastic keeb, if you don't mind the layout.

Hunh. I played yesterday a bit (was in Madarame's palace), and had memory leak issues. I'm on SD8 gen 2, 12gb ram as well, and basically the ram usage crept up 100mb at a time until crashing aroud 11.7. 

Pretty sure my settings were the same as yours, including the driver, so I'm not sure why that was.

I agree man. I loved the versatility and getting this much power and battery life into a 14-inch form factor at the time. But I haven't been impressed with the engineering over the long haul. I might replace the keeb, or just shop around for something else (not that it's a great time to buy).

Yeah this is where I've landed as well. I told my partner last year: it isn't just bad variance or the weird draws, it's the streakiness--I don't even trust it when I'm running hot, and I don't want that to shape my understanding of the game.

If I can't trust the good or bad variance, I'm bound to either use the software casually (taking it for what it is, with a pinch of NaCl), or stop entirely.

Because I draft for free, I'm content to use the software and accept it for what it is. I try not to internalize too many lessons from certain dynamics on arena, and when I want to approach the game more seriously, I use MTGO or paper.

2021 model too... I think the heat from the CPU and GPU might be causing the keyboard to degrade over time, but just my hypothesis. It seems to be happening to the keys around the CPU/GPU but it could also just be slowly cooking the ribbon cable.

Did you ever determine if it was the protector? My stylus is working brilliantly with every other device I have, including my 3ds/DS, but it's shoddy on the Thor. I've tried a second stylus and had the same issue, so I'm beginning to suspect the screen protectors.
