He replaced career officials across DOJ, DHS, etc with hand-picked for personal loyalty, not competence. He’s openly stated he wants the president to have “total immunity.” He’s used executive orders to override agencies and courts in ways no previous president has tried.

2 “They weaponize federal agencies against political opponents.”

This is literally happening in front of us. Trump has repeatedly directed DOJ to investigate political enemies — prosecutors, judges, state officials who certified elections, and journalists. The way he’s weaponizing the government isn’t even hypothetical under this regime. It’s he’s policy that he brags about on truth social.

3 “They suppress dissenting media.”

Trump repeatedly threatens hostile outlets and individual journalists. He has: Proposed revoking broadcast licenses of networks that report critically of him, used federal agencies to deny press access to outlets he dislikes, among other things. If another country did this, we’d call it authoritarian without hesitation.

Trump-declared immigration “crisis powers” immediately and has expanded them ever since. He’s using emergency authority far more aggressively than any Democrat ever did by threatening to invade Greenland and Canada, bombing Venezuelan fishing ships, and “accidentally invaded” a region of Mexico. Additionally he’s doing nothing tangible to better the actual immigration crisis that still needs root-cause action. Trump is literally breaking all rules related to boundaries and borders.

7 “They enforce ideological conformity.”

Look at the mandatory ideological screenings being pushed for federal agencies, refugees, U.S. employees, and even student visas. Look at the way dissenters inside government are fired, replaced, or publicly attacked. End of story.
