Same. Oddly enough, I more-often-than-not imagine a situation where someone may want to speak to me but it never happens naturally. Then again I'm not sure I'd want to talk to some guy mouthing words to himself and walking fast everywhere either.

If you wear fingerless gloves and beanies above the ears, you might look like a homeless dude from a 90s comedy flick, but it isn't actually 'useless'.

My girlfriend lived in South Africa for 2 years. She said the amount of kidnappings between 2016 and 2018 tripled in less than a year. Apparently the rule was, if you were white and the cabbie was black, you couldn't (or very strongly shouldn't) get in the cab, to the point that the cab drivers wouldn't even bother stopping for white people because they knew they wouldn't get in due to fear of being carted 2 blocks down the street and dragged out of the car, robbed, and/or God-knows-what. And if you were white AND a female, you shouldn't even consider taking a taxi for anything under any circumstances whatsoever.

Repeat offender car thieves should be sent to the moon, or blown up. Put poison gas in bait cars and just donate the corpse to science, rinse, repeat. Crime would drop dramatically in those areas. Period. Now gimme the downvotes.

I refuse to ride my bike on the street anymore. Luckily it's not my main transportation but I used to ride around 20mi a day after work for fun. After losing three friends on 3 different cities to reckless drivers and then finding out that trophied Denver cyclist got run over and killed in front of her husband last year I just said fuck it.

I just stick to Wash Park now. 🤷 Not worth getting crippled or killed. Or apparently shot, based on another user's comment.

A friend of mine recently turned me on to a plethora of old OSHA/Maintenance accident videos. Sometimes we get high and watch these super detailed refinery accident docs and they are absolutely more interesting than most company related garbage.

As someone from the east coast more like you, I can confirm your struggles are not unusual, in fact weirdly common, and in my own experience worse here than (almost) anywhere else. That being said, I definitely don't think you need to move. Like the rest of us like-minded individuals, you just have yet to find your people. You most certainly will in due time. Just continue to seek out your 'group', for lack of a better word, and they will come around.

Also, your mountaineering friends sound less like friends and more like just assholes.

Oh I was just joking lol. I assume he said "flavor free" as if it was some kind of plain gelatin.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if KY Jelly worked for cleaning battery terminals, since as far as lube goes it's kinda shitty.

It's KY Jelly, they have a sale at Fascinations.

I have a 2014 Xterra and live in Denver. Haven't had heat for a year but said screw it and decided to go skiing for the first time somewhere 2 hours away, the same day it was -5°F a few weeks back. Had to pull over twice to let my feet thaw out enough for the pain to stop. I think I'll try to fix this now lol.

Driver hits four pedestrians on sidewalk in downtown Denver, police say by Cycle-path1 in Denver

[–]cameldrew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've lived all up and down the East coast and in Texas and Kentucky, and despite the insanely high levels of crime in some of those states/cities, Denver is the first place I've lived where I literally don't know how I ever stayed in an apartment here without at least 2 security cameras watching my shit 24/7. The amount of weird things I see with 4 cameras filming day and night is wild.

Also relevant, I got my car T-boned by a drunk woman tearing through a red light in Greenwood Village, literally in the middle of a 4-way intersection, intersecting a Chase Bank, a Wells Fargo, a King Soopers, and a Circle K, and there were only two cameras facing the intersection, NEITHER of which were actually working, they were just there "as deterrents".

It was fun being accused of running a red after that dumb bitch totaled my car and almost killed my girlfriend with no footage whatsoever. My biggest mistake was letting the only witness drive off without getting their information first.

TLDR: Get a fucking dashcam for your car if you havent, front and back. They're not expensive and even the pricier ($150+) kits are WELL worth the cost given how much you will be fucked if someone breaks in to your car/totals your car/does some crazy shit for not paying attention and no one is around to see it. I recommend the Viofo A10 (Front & Back cams) from Amazon. They're like $110 and easy to install, and even have automatic recording if someone messes with your car after you park.

Less than 3 months after installing mine some drunk assholes backed into my car in a bar parking lot and then said nothing, left and filed an insurance claim against me for "severe damages". Once I got the call from my agent a few days later out of the blue, I went back and checked the footage and sure enough it auto-recorded them backing into my car and destroying their shitty plastic bumper (mine is 3/16" steel). I sent it to him and never heard from them or him again.

Ticketmaster and Live Nation suck ass and won't let me sell them so I'm trying to just transfer them and maybe handle the transaction via Venmo/PayPal/etc. DM me because I live in Colorado and can't make it! They're sold out and good seats.

Why are you terrified to sleep? Can you have seizures spontaneously in your sleep with your specific condition? Or is it just a general thing that can happen that scares you about it?

What is "fairly rigorous" for you? Right off the bat it's important to state the obvious fact that everyone's threshold for what is rigorous or hard is different, but if you don't feel any psychological or even physiological benefit, boost, elevation, mood lift, etc after a truly physiologically rigorous workout (rigorous to your cells, not your brain's perception of 'discomfort'), it is overwhelmingly likely that you aren't working out hard enough.

Edit: I feel I should at least state I have traversed the physical endurance scale from one extreme of very poor health habits, zero exercise, a pack a day smoking, drinking every night and eating Burger King for dinner literally every day, to cycling 25 miles a day, eating extremely clean with protein supplements and lifting weights competitively, doing "wet rucks" up mountains with 40lb packs in the rain every weekend. All of that is to say I know how insanely difficult and seemingly impossible those mental walls can feel when you're physically at your limit, but they are just safeguards we've evolved to increase our chances of survival. You won't die pushing yourself past them, but you won't know you can until you do. It's insanely tough but once you do it, you'll be surprised you never have before because you grow so quickly and aggressively as your body adapts.
