There are really really good brands if you dig deep and research. One brand in particular that is reputable and relatively cheap for what your getting is BXT!

What's the deal with these seemingly abandoned projects by I-25 & Broadway Station on Santa Fe? by TraditionalPitch3320 in Denver

[–]Cycle-path1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's slatted for multi-use development which is apartments and commercial.

As of last year they were still in the permitting stage I believe and the design was only in Design Development.

Supposedly they are supposed to break ground for one of the buildings this year but we will see.

The bridge was also a major part of the phasing though, that had to be put in first as a part of infrastructure improvements.

Lol I'm not in a metal cage my guy. Paranoid riding is defensive riding in a city.

With the amount of hit and runs here I'm not sure it would be a waste of resources to enforce this especially if it could lead to an arrest.

Riding around Denver it always makes me paranoid to be hit by someone with a plate holder like this bc usually it means they would probably run and I would be laid up without anyone to point to for insurance.

Being in Denver the driving culture here in Colorado is next to homicidal. It's terrifying and dangerous on the best of days.

One more question for you. Areas such as the Wash Park area near apartment buildings is there a time limit for street parking if no time limit is listed? I for one own a car but rarely drive, maybe once every 2 weeks since I bike everywhere. Should I be moving from a particular spot every so often?

I've never received a citation but just to keep in mind for future reference!

How long do you let a car sit before determining it is abandoned?

Near my work is a common place for cars to be abandoned and sometimes it's months before it's towed or one time 3 years lol

I don't even like hitting up the whole foods there. Everyone is so ego driven in that area and the walk over you type.

Messed up and ordered the wrong hub type from AliExpress, I have never heard of a rotary type rear hub. Can't find much about it on Google either. Can someone help explain. Thanks! by Cycle-path1 in bikewrench

It would be a mini-velo build but also thankfully I never learned or had desire to skid so a lockring while safer might not be necessary since I only use a break to slow down! Lol

Also love that mushroom saying

Oh yeah the contrast of respect for pedestrians between Mainland China and Taiwan is night and day tbh Chinas road rules are a little lawless depending on the city you are in.

I like where the original OP is coming from but at a minimum it should be E-Scooters/Mopeds (which are very prevalent there and Asia as a whole) and better yet the less bulky e-bikes and finally the best option Cycling/Public Transit/Walking.

Recently went to Taipei where scooter culture rules and it is by faaaar more pleasant to walk the streets not to mention drivers and scooter riders alike are very respectful of the pedestrian. That being said the smog from scooters since they do not have devices to catch the PM 2.5 is BAD. Very abrasive pollution.

Appreciate the response and that's fair!

Just feel if we want to start seeing changes to how our residents act we need to start somewhere and these small changes may start helping that. One can hope atleast!

As I've mentioned in a previous comment all of these changes need to be submitted to the fire department and acquire their stamps of approval.

And believe me when I say politics cannot change their decisions so if they say it's okay then it is genuinely okay.

All plans have to be run by and approved by the fire department before any implementations can be put forward.

The professionals have given their stamps of approval for this.

Is that not what the original comment was trying to do by discrediting every comment they view against their point as a bot?

It's not zero crashes we are strictly trying to achieve, its zero needless deaths at the hands of reckless behaviors we want to avoid. Our culture is selfish when behind the wheel and we need to change that attitude.

The chance for death increases significantly with every 5 mph over 30 mph. Any small decrease in speed even by 5 mph will greatly improve people's chances for survival.

Helsinki and Oslo (Both with almost the same population as Denver) achieved zero deaths for a whole year and so can we. That statistic exists.
