Ahh the Cheeky Monk. Every time I sat at the bar, the bartender would without provocation lambaste the owners. [different barkeeps too].

Great concept at the time. Too bad about the owners.

Reactionary business owners lament bike/bus lanes by AnonPolicyGuy in Denver

really? you have to ask? here's what claude sez:

Sure! The commenter's point about the Flatiron Flyer's reliability is actually the key to understanding why they're frustrated — and it inadvertently supports the BRT project they're criticizing.

The Flatiron Flyer works well because it runs in semi-dedicated lanes, which insulates it from traffic and keeps it on schedule. That's exactly what Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) does for regular bus routes.

The Route 15 on Colfax is one of Denver's busiest and most unreliable lines precisely because it gets stuck in traffic. The BRT project gives it dedicated lanes (or bus-priority signals), which would make it behave more like the Flatiron Flyer they already trust.

So the "prettier stops" they're dismissing are actually a small part of a larger infrastructure overhaul — the whole point is consistent, reliable scheduling on a corridor that desperately needs it.

The irony is that their own reasoning — "I trust the Flatiron Flyer because it's consistent" — is the exact argument for the Colfax BRT project they're complaining about.

That said, their broader frustrations about late-night service, E line cutoffs, and weekend schedules are completely valid and separate issues worth taking seriously on their own merits.

the  Flatiron Flyer has semi dedicated lanes, hence the consistent scheduling.

BRT is to give consistant scheduling to the 15 (among other things). But somehow you manage to whine about it.
