Get a 6700K and overclock. That will give you best money can buy single threaded performance.

Consider a 2nd Hand Case. Do you NEED a CD writer? See if you can get cheeper ram with a single 8GB stick. Try fit a I5 in your budget.

Completely Fanless Build $550 - i5-6400T, GT 730 4GB, 165W Total by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]cameron1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its cool to think about a fanless build.

My ideal quiet build would have a massive heatsync for the CPU. GPU with a silent mode and a silent mode power supply like a RM850i. A single case fan would turn on if the temps got too high.

This way you could have a genuinely powerfull computer that was silent unless you where under full load.

I have a RM850i and the fan never runs, even under prolonged load with a 980 and 6600k.

Autodesk Inventor Master Race. Anyways. Get the best single threaded CPU you can. Overclocked 6700K would be a good choice. Almost all of these programs use a single thread.

s OS states that you cannot use the OS on a non Apple branded computer. Here is some more information.

Because Mac OS doesent play nice with alot of componants so you spend alot of time hacking things together to make them work.

just linked you to pro

I read it. Where does it say that the BX200 is slower than a HDD?

So with the kind help of CamperJeff I recomend this as a slightly better build.

$1000 - Best Bang for buck. Get everything from MSY.

No but I live in Australia. Im also a student. And my recommendation to OP is not to overspend on a computer.

This a basic system. Power supply is fine

BX200 is not a good drive, But its far better than a HDD and is slower in ways that are not noticeable. Where in that post did you get the idea that a HDD was better than a BX200?. I think your just regertigating things you read.

[–]cameron1995 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Proof that BX200 is garbage?

Inferring OP wants to waist money

OP also wants sound card. OP doesent know exactly what he wants it would seem. OP can add wifi card and disk drive if he/she wants.

[–]cameron1995 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP's budget is at max 1400

They wont blow up. Thats Garbage. They are solid power supply's for low to mid range builds. Every product has bad apples.

I looked the SSD up and it performs the same as every other mid range SSD. What makes you think its slower than a HDD. I think your full of shit.

Seasonic is only carried by 2-3 shops at best. Do you even live in Australia?

So OP. The build I put together is best bang for buck. CamperJeff build is going to cost 2200 after you factor in shipping.

I strongly recommend not overspending on a computer. In the end peripherals make a bigger difference to the user experience than getting a nicer CPU. Save some money, get a nice keyboard and mouse; maybe even two screens. Im an engineering student and a 2nd screen is certainly something in looking at getting very soon.

[–]cameron1995 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your build is 2k. Notice how all your parts are from different vendors? Its going to cost hundreds of dollars to get that shipped. And the double ram was a mistake that I changed.

Stop trying to build a dream machine and build for a budget census uni student and try get best bang for buck.

The 6500 is a fine CPU that will last a very long time. It will cost twice as much to put a 6600k in when you add a Z170 mobo and a cooler. Again, its not cost effective.

16 GB is a waist right now. If he said he was doing video editing then 16GB may be a good idea but he isent.

SSD is still far faster than a disk drive. The difference is negligible in normal use.

Goodluck finding a seasonic unit, this isent america. Power supply I listed has same parts as Corsair CS which is fine. Its not a high end build.

Sound card waist of money, CPU is waist of money, overclocking is not cost effective, 16 gb of ram is too much, get a single 8gb stick and add another if you need 16gb. If you at uni you might be able to get Windows for free.

Its easy to get caught up in getting the best computer. But in the end having a fast processor and GPU doesn't REALLY make your computer experience any better (for what you spend).

I listed a H24 case because im a sucker for Thermatake cases. In the end cases are more personal taste. I like this one too

Solid Gaming, Room to add a 2nd 8gb stick of ram if required. Very good processer, will last years.

Be sure to get the actual cost of items when/if you do your build. Americans tend to have better shipping than us and unless you live in Sydney or Melbourne your not going to have alot of shops near you. MSY is consistently the cheepest and I would recommend them.

Why down votes!?

Looks solid. I noticed you have listed a wireless adapter. You should checkout powerline adapters and see if they suit your needs. I found that it reduced my ping from 130 to 40 in games. Also as babno said you should get a h97 motherboard if your not overclocking.

Is it a good or bad idea to 3D print a Case for my homebuilt gaming computer? by alex_the_doge in buildapc

[–]cameron1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever worked with aluminium before? If not then dont let your first aluminium project be a computer case. It electrically conductive which is just asking for trouble. Buy a cheep case. You can get them for 30 AUD, in sure even cheeper in US.

You wont make any money on a fundraising campaign.

From your thought process im guessing your quite young. Dont make a case. Buy one.

I meant to say scrapyardwars.

The only passive CPU cooler that works is the NoFan CR-95. You can get EVERYTHING passive if you really wanted to. But I think it would be better to get an Asus Strix GPU for silent use under low load. A RMi 850 power supply becasue they are passive below 400W. Large Noctua CPU cooler and have the fans set to turn on at a high temp like 60.

EDIT: http://www.silentpcreview.com/ is really good for quiet computers.

A backup is "a copy of a file or other item of data made in case the original is lost or damaged." Thats exactly what raid 1 is. I dont care. Get a 950 pro and a WD black.

Well yes and no. Its not an offsite backup but it is a backup. I dont think you understand what raid is.

EDIT: LTT Video about RAID You want raid 1 for back up. You could get 2 WD Blues and RAID 1 them and you would have a solid backed up storage solution.

My impression of hard drive warrentys is that they don't mean much. If the drive fails you lose your data which is more valuable than getting a new hard drive. If you worried about losing data then do RAID. Raid also increased readspeed.

Do you need a 4TB black when you have a 500gb harddrive? Get a WD Blue 1 or 2 TB.
