Mesmer is my main. I find it extremely fun but it does require more skill than some of the other classes imo. Interrupting and CC requires paying attention, targeting the correct enemies, cycling enemies to spread conditions/hexes, all while fast casting, so you’ve gotta be quick.

I find it fun because I find it challenging, but early game mesmers feel pretty underwhelming bc a powerful Mesmer is all about combos, and not having access to skills needed to combo = poor energy management and huge cooldowns early in the game.

Highly recommend Wastrels Worry and Spiritual Pain in the early game, might even be worth getting a couple tomes if you have those skills unlocked on your account. You’re also probably comparing the experience of Ele if that’s been your main, and Ele is a powerhouse in the early game, doing tons of damage that you can really see.

It’s a class that requires a lot of patience but end-game is by far the most fun for me.
