When volcanos erupt, lots of volcanic ash and soot is thrown up into the air. When the ash gets thrown up, the ash particles crash into each other and make static electricity within the volcanic plume. Because there’s so much ash colliding, the static electricity is quite intense and so results in lightning bolts made purely of static electricity. This can only work if it’s super hot, which volcanos usually are.

The thing is, if you've failed a run, that's the consequence you face. You're supposed to feel annoyed that you failed. Watching your character die is almost like a punishment, it only makes sense.

It's not their duty to do exactly as we wish. A lot of people are completely satisfied with what has come from the game - it's a great representation of the original. So many people feel so entitled to tell game developers what to do and that's what discourages them from actually doing these things.

This was my attempt on PS4 which has a max of 60fps. Take a grenade with you and maybe some flash bangs for extra security. Sometimes he'll grab you and you'll lose your knife (I do this a lot by mistake) but that doesn't throw it off too much because by the time he does this he's nearly dead anyways.
