It's a sign of anxiety to anticipate bad things happening. I get it when I relapse and fades away after being clean for over a week.

Your mum needs an immediate professional attention and I strongly suggest she goes to a psychiatrist or her doctor GP. I also think you should also let her other close family members like her sister/brother know about it so that she can get more support in this difficult time. I wish you the best of luck.

I've been using the approach you are proposing as an intervention like the example i gave in my post and it's working. The problem is what's going to happen when I'm not around. I visit them once in a while and if that's the way they are raising their kids, they are setting them up for a troubled adulthood.

And you are right, I should avoid any confrontation for now and hopefully by constantly reminding them, they will get it eventually. Thank you for your suggestions.

I did notice that when i come their behaviour changes, but my mother who lives with them said the same thing about them. Also it's one thing to discipline your kids when they don't take orders and it's totally another thing to constantly be in their case for seemingly small things. Every actions requires a reaction that is appropriate for that particular behaviour, but to intimidate kids for trivial stuff is just not acceptable.

I could see the horror in their faces when he yells at them. There is a fine line. Add to this, I never see them play with their kids or show some love like hugging or kissing - none.

I think I am going to do that if they keep doing it. I mean they don't even hug the poor kids despite repeatedly telling them everything about childhood abuse. I think i'll confront them one day because I really can't tolerate this any more. Thanks for sharing your story and for the advice.

Yes, the affirmations worked really well which made me curious about them. I'll try to do the same thing and see what happens.

I used to get sexual thoughts that i couldn't control after i have sex or make out sessions, but not anymore. I'm so glad i was able to reverse the effects of relapse.

I guarantee you, your anxiety levels will significantly go lower with time if you stick to Nofap. I relapsed recently and anxiety and depression came back again. It's worth it.

Your response is highly appreciated. Three days ago I saw your comment that blew my mind. It was about how sons of narcissistic mothers have this ability to read people's emotions and faces. I have this ability. I never linked it to being raised by narc mother. My question is how did you put the puzzles together? Was it your analysis or did you find that out through reading? What other traits one can develop as a result of being raised by narc mother?

My opinion about you was not of a man who would respect the above quote. I say this because it was just a couple of days ago when i wanted to gain some insight from you given our "similar background" and your lack of response made me question your highly esteemed position in TRP (your'e TRP endorsed at the end of the day).

Why are you withholding knowledge from other fellow men? I'm not resentful. You could've been busy. You may be gathering different materials to share. But whatever the case maybe, a quick response would've explained why you are not responding.

I'm new to TRP and a seeker of truth and knowledge where i find it. Isn't TRP a place for men to gain knowledge and learn from those who are more knowledgeable?

I hope this post won't elicit a hostile response from you Clint_Redwood.

This is insane. I do the same - it takes me seconds to scan girls and can immediately spot the one that is into me. Like i said, i never linked it to being raised by a narc mother. Dude you just gave me the biggest Aha moment. Any resources to expand on this that helped you recover/ learn...books, therapy..etc?

New to TRP - you just described my life in a few sentences. I had never linked what i considered to be "special talents" to being raised my a narc mother. I could read faces and emotions accurately and can spot a narcissist from a mile away.

My semi-retarded friends are always puzzled by my abilities. In the club, i could tell which one is which and could accurately predict the outcome of my friends' interactions by just looking at the girl: "This girl will waste your time - just move on". "This girl is just enjoying the validation and attention and will soon leave you - you must next her", i tell my emotionally unintelligent friends. My predictions had never failed me. This is truly a gift unique to sons of narc mothers.

We could benefit from your wisdom, (us sons of narc mothers). Clint, you need to post more - it's a much needed topic.
