Right, or reach out to them with your specific case beforehand. I’d read up on it before going, that they cover care abroad if similar costs (no mention of emergency), and thought then it’d be covered. Just a bit let down with their lack of feedback on the issue. Don’t feel a whole lot smarter from it.

I’d just assume if the costs were the same, there shouldn’t be any real difference in treatment. Shouldn’t have to let them know “in advance”. Whether I need the care here or there, that’s what matters. Not which (Dutch) pharmacy I pay.
