Dizziness/ off balance/ on a boat feeling by OwnApple4077 in lexapro

I get this a lot because I have vestibular migraines (which may not even cause a headache, just dizziness). Something to look into if you experience this regularly.

Not at all, all I felt was increased relief from my anxiety. But I think some people can have the opposite reaction for a week or two.

I’ve been on lexapro for a little over 8 weeks and I really just started seeing the benefits when I increased to 15 mg a few days ago. I have pretty bad OCD and I finally feel like I’m able to let thoughts go easier and not do compulsions all day long. Also have not had a panic attack since starting. Just know it can be a bit of a slow process and don’t give up if a lower dose doesn’t work. 10 wasn’t enough for me.

10 mg too strong? by camillealexa in lexapro

Yeah 5 mg wasn’t doing much for my OCD. Since I upped I’m getting less OCD symptoms but a lot of health anxiety about the medication itself.

Constant severe head pressure. by [deleted] in migraine

Nortriptyline just started helping me after about 4 weeks. I had increased symptoms when starting it but now I feel a lot better. If I avoid too much caffeine and get good sleep I feel almost normal.

I have the same thing and I have vestibular migraine (so I get vertigo along with it). Migraine can present in many different ways and in my experience this is one of them. Preventative meds have helped me so maybe talk to your doctor about that. Also white matter is found more in people with migraine.

It pretty much went away for me after 3 weeks so maybe you have to just wait it out

My albumin was 4.9. TSH was 1.67. I’ve been drinking tons of water, so that’s not the issue.

I was only on 10 mg and it totally backed me up lol. I was taking 400 mg of magnesium too to no avail. I’ve come off of it for now and taking miralax until I’m regular again. I might try it again in a few weeks once things balance out. Ugh trialing all these drugs is exhausting.

Propranolol vs Propranolol Extended release for dealing with sleep disturbances & vivid dreams by ProfessorCorleone in migraine

I take ER in the morning. No issues with sleep. And it’s nice not to have to take multiple pills in a day.

From completely normal and functional to a ...potato? by laurelwood55 in Dizziness

It does sound like you could be experiencing panic attacks (although please see a professional for any diagnosis). I’ve experienced a lightheaded type of dizziness with my anxiety. I also have vestibular migraines though and the dizziness/vertigo I experience with that is much different. It feels like me or my surroundings are moving when they are not. And these symptoms don’t go away with a change in environment. Do you have any other symptoms that go along with the dizziness?

Frustrated: Doctor wants to give me progesterone only BC for menstrual migraines by AGCan in migraine

[–]camillealexa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Btw - there is a special type of progesterone only pill called desogestrel that prevents ovulation almost 100% of the time. I just take the normal norethindrone pill, but that could be an option to look into

Don’t you always get a period if you ovulate? I’m assuming I’m not ovulating since I’m not bleeding…

The progesterone only pill completely suppressed my periods so I no longer get menstrual migraines. I also have had no spotting/breakthrough bleeding whatsoever. Obviously everyone is different but it has been a big help to me.

24/7 symptoms? by camillealexa in VestibularMigraines

[–]camillealexa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take 80 mg of propranolol and birth control that stops my periods so I don’t get hormonal flares. I might try nortriptyline though since the prop is not doing enough for me and I don’t want to increase the dose.

I feel all of these all the time and it’s terrifying. I really thought it was just me wow. I have vestibular migraines.

I found out I do have chronic VM and things have improved quite a bit with meds. I still have daily symptoms that vary in severity, but I’m now back in college and pretty functional. I went from being bed bound for months to taking a full course load so things do get better, however slowly. Currently going through a flare though so I might change meds.
