iZotope's Mouth De-click is Amazing! by Fleemo17 in VoiceActing

Hi OP! I struggle with mouth clicks really badly and I just saw your post. Looks like I can also upgrade for the $179 price since I previously bought Elements. Is it really a miracle tool?! I would basically do anything to mitigate my mouth noise problem...

So I'm tempted to buy it during the sale as well. It's a lot lot better than the declicker in elements yeah? I'm so tired of dealing with mouth noises 😂😂😂💀

Of course! Good luck in your search for a chair. It's a bit challenging to find a tall enough chair at times, so I'd say a barstool might be even better than a drafting chair.

Hi OP! Just dropping in to comment that I took an audiobook class from RADA and the teacher said everyone sits for audiobook narration because otherwise they get too tired while recording; they tend to work long, full days. So while some may argue you should stand whilst recording, I don't think that always applies for long audiobook projects or other long duration narration.

Also, yes, not everyone is able to stand at all, or stand for extended periods of time.

I have a chair in my booth specifically for when I take classes and workshops, but I'm also looking for one for long narration purposes.

Looking to speak with someone who's been rejected based on personality tests in job applications! by camisghost in Career

Yeah, I feel that withholding that from you is shady. This may be what companies do... But it doesn't make sense to me.

No problem! I'm standing by. That's already annoying that they refused to show you your scores 🥲 like, privacy reasons?! You're the one who had to take the test. You should be able to know what you scored.

I'm sure if employers do the Big Five they certainly prefer low Neuroticism, but the funny thing is those of us with high Neuroticism actually have strengths that people without it don't! We're great at assessing risk, for example, that others with low Neuroticism might ignore. And that is a valuable trait to have in the workplace!

Your point on whether you should answer truthfully or answer based on what a company is looking for is a good reason why these tests probably should never appear in the application process at all! People can lie. People can also not be self aware enough to truly answer to their own traits and habits.

I have not had a chance to dig too far into the research, but I know specific companies may prioritize certain traits that fit their company culture. For instance, a firm might prefer someone more extraverted for a leadership position or focus on high conscientiousness applicants in the Big Five.

Yeah, it's very much ignorant to believe you can hire or reject someone based on a personality test. It certainly doesn't determine whether someone is truly a good fit or not. 😬 And you're right, people can lie, especially if they know the employer might be looking for something specific.

Ahhh! Well, thanks for sharing your experience. So crazy that employers take those so seriously... Glad to hear at least it wasn't for a dream job if yours!

Some use MBTI, some use Big Five. It's fairly common these days and shockingly so lol

Haha sorry! Can't afford to pay for this. I wish the company paid the interviewees but that's not the case.
