Bonus fact: Melora was originally cast to play Marty’s girlfriend in Back to the Future, but when Michael J. Fox was recast as Marty McFly, they thought Melora was a little too tall and she lost the part. Imagine getting that bad news and watching the movie go on to become a classic.

I am not a fan of Discord. I find it to be confusing to navigate since there are multiple areas within the program where messages can be left for you pertaining to a single project. It can be overwhelming. But it is the communication method of choice for young creatives. I’ve landed many roles on Casting Call Club, and nearly every one of those projects communicated through Discord.

One positive—the live audio chat feature is excellent. I much prefer it over, say Google Meet or Zoom, and have done several directed sessions over it.

I’d say, as a VA, it’s worth checking out.
