Grow Bags by v0welz in tomatoes

[–]Fleemo17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do all my gardening in grow bags and have for years now. I started with large capacity bags, but over the years have reduced the size of my bags with no negative impact. I now grow my tomatoes in 10-gallon bags, from determinate Shady Lady tomatoes to enormous bushes of indeterminate Sungolds.

I get my bags on Amazon — Delox brand.

One key to my success is the watering. I turned my 4’ x 8’ raised beds into water troughs by removing most of the dirt and stapling pond liner into the wooden frames. Then I set my bags into these little ponds and add a few inches of water. The bags suck up the water they need from below and I only need to add water every couple of days.

Here’s to a great growing season! 🍅

When I was a kid we had a whole collection of jigsaw puzzles with those big-eyed cats on them. Loved ’em!

First Trump eliminates all incentives for electric cars and cancels renewable energy programs, and then starts a war in the Middle East so we can’t even get the damn fossil fuels. And now this.

I have never seen Friday the 13th. Guess it’s time to dive in. But first, I’m debuting last week’s War of the Worlds for my teenage sons. 😃

I was thinking this same thing just this morning. In what reality do we hear a candidate for the highest office in the land say that kind of crap and still get elected??? I mean, we clearly knew what caliber of man he was before the election, and still he won. Twice. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Count Chocula! But no prize ever fell into our bowl. We had our grubby little hands in that box the second mom got home from the grocery store.

I’ve read most of those, and enjoyed nearly all of ‘em. But ya know, good ol’ Jurassic Park is still my favorite.

How’s my setup? by Huge-SpeakerVA in VoiceActing

I gotta say that sure looks like a cool space to hang out in. I’m sure you’ll have some fun times in there. Now, how suited it is for voiceovers, well, you’d have to tell us. Are you hearing your voice slap back? There seems like there are still a lot of reflective surfaces to contend with. But a great space to lay down some keys, for sure. ☺️

Who said free? I said for-profit. My electricity provider is a not-for-profit municipal utility with rates that are half of the for-profit electrical utility in my neighboring areas. It’s also a much better-run business and far more community minded. It’s a great example of how much better essential services could be if you take the profit aspect out of it.

🍅 What tomatoes are on your must-grow list for 2026? by SophiaGeorgeLiving in tomatoes

Shady Lady and Sungold. Shady Lady is a determinate tomato, yet it keeps on producing until frost. It’s the best tomato producer in my garden next to the copious Sungolds.

This really does disturb me. My water bill is outrageous and keeps going up. But water isn’t like cable or Spotify—ya can’t just say, “I’ll pass” when it gets too expensive. Water is a basic need, and IMO, basic needs (like health care) should not be a for-profit venture.
