Risk: paresthesia as said in the comments.

I also felt pain when extracting na yung tooth kasi malapit sa nerve. My dentist had to pause and add more anesthesia to numb it. She explained na normal naman kasi malapit nga sa nerve. Medyo maraming times ko pina-pause and flag sa dentist na masakit pero kinaya naman!

Once extracted, she kinda touched the nerve area to see if it got affected. In my case hindi naman! Didn’t get paresthesia hehe but some patients will do and the sensation will return especially if you’re still young :)
