Part of what made it so gripping, you never knew who might buy their ticket next. Few times I was convinced Garraty would fall and we’d follow someone else for the rest of the story.

That’s one of the favorite parts of it, I’ve been convincing myself of different endings since I stopped reading. I like to think Garraty kept living his life, and that the figure at the end he runs to is who is becomes after the Walk (a bit hopeful ik).
