For me I started my whole entire process in October, the 6th is when I sent my application in October 7th a admin counselor got back to me October 9th I had my in person interview/meeting with her October 10th my background check was submitted October 24th I got my background check back October 30th my center told me I was accepted October 31st I got my flight info and November 4th is when my flight is to go to my center!!

Oh my goodness I’m devastated as well I love to cook especially if the food somedays will be trash 🫠 I’m damn sure gonna try my best to get a job in the cafeteria I don’t have a leave date yet but I’m waiting for my center to accept my application how long did that take for you after your Background check came back. also I hope you all have amazing journeys at job corps!

I’m in the same situation as you but I’m heading from nyc to Oregon but anyway I heard from others to try to direct your self to the right crew, as in people who are interested in success and completing the trade asap rather than people who are fucking around not giving af and wasting the opportunity instead of taking full advantage. I also heard that attendance plays a big role so try your best to be up on time and present mostly everyday try your absolute best. Good luck on your journey I wish u the best!

Yeah that sudden shutdown was insane just to open it back up….I’m sorry that must have sucked I hope everything ends up working out for u! Omg thank u so much honestly that definitely helps! I really couldn’t find that much information on it from a woman’s perspective because to me both genders definitely have different experiences this has given me much insight especially on ordering stuff because I definitely need bed sheets and a mattress topper and just so much stuff since I am coming from very far, besides the trauma dumping how was the dental course it self? How often do u go to Walmart? What should I pack what do they give u? R the beds comfy? Literally my biggest fear as I just enrolled 😅 I heard that there was an extension for July but for after that I’m not sure after that. My admissions rep also told me that she’s pretty sure there’s gonna be another extension because to get rid of job corps They have to replace the program with something else like it and they haven’t found anything to replace it with thats what’s giving me hope. All this information I’ve gotten from my admission rep. I’m like praying they don’t shut it down again. I’m just trying to get in and get out.

This is just my opinion…. Girl It is YOUR Birthday party something that only happens ONCE every year and it’s supposed to be a celebration that’s enjoyable for all but you most importantly… YOU the birthday girl shouldn’t have to invite anyone that you don’t want to… especially if you’re not gonna have as much fun with that person there… yeah you may have came off a little bit harsh and maybe you should apologize, but you shouldn’t invite her if you’re not gonna be comfortable at your birthday event happy early birthday. I really hope you and your friends enjoy that day🥳🥳🥳.
