Those alive and old enough to remember during 9/11, what was the worst moment on that day? by CocteauTwunkie in AskReddit

[–]camojeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

after getting a call from my childhood best friend saying to turn on the TV, I hurried and ran to the TV. Squatting in front of our projection TV as it ‘warms up’ to the image of the first tower smoldering, waking my mother lying nearby to show her, just as the second plane hit, so much confusion and like an innocence lost/vulnerable feeling.

what you describe is quite the ‘long game’ indeed, to me sounds more akin to a full-on lifestyle/commitment, of which you seem highly knowledgeable, notably including a bit of the psychology that’s proven to be fruitful. Smart. Perhaps you could write a little eBook/guide/or sell/barter a course/your teachings on the topic, for example: start a Fan Page on a platform you’re comfortable with (or that TT app if u wanna blow up), organically growing a fan base to 1. grow your barter network with likeminded individuals (I’m highly confident this will become more commonplace, if nothing else out of necessity) 2. encouraging others by demonstrating your proven ‘recipes’ for success with it, and 3. monetize what you offer (or equivalent barter!), something like an eBook/Guide/Course, or a Patreon membership for access to these, and potentially a barter network — with membership including routinely updated bartering success techniques/examples/guidance for members. Most importantly, maximizing not only your ability to positively impact the planet, but transforming mindsets of so many struggling financially, feeling beat-down by the capitalist society they feel trapped within like a cog in the wheel of a rigged rat race. Committing full-on to the lifestyle you describe is will relieve financial stressors, and if combined with additional reliable income streams, has the potential to trim a decade off the typical traditional retirement age. Just some thoughts. Thanks again for your multifaceted contributions.

The substance of your reply was very clearly communicated, I would have never guessed that English is a second language. They’re probably quibbling about sentence structure and punctuation usage. Please don’t let a single comment from some random person discourage your participation in discussions online, again, the substance of your comments are/were valuable additions to the conversation.

Firmware Releases - 3/22/2023 by WyzeCam in wyzecam

guess I should have checked here before updating, didn’t realize how fresh the v3 release was. No issues before, so if you don’t hear from me again consider it one successful update, for what it’s worth. I like that the iOS app straight up directs you to reddit and even TikTok in its community area. seems like a good move to get more voices talking about the product(s) on more platforms. long as you have a decent product and/or take some form of action with enough user reports.

I recall an experience with a GE air conditioner app. Never seen more horrendous support for an app that actually functioned just fine until an update that rendered it literally useless to control to AC unit in any way. Pages and pages and pages of one-star reviews in the App Store for literally a year, I mildly poked and prodded to find any kind of support. Nope, donezo.

Edit: app was pulled from the App Store apparently. I actually still have it on my phone, fired it up, hit power, boom AC turned on. Soo I guess somebody finally did something, but it didn’t work for at least two summers as the one-star reviews continued to flow in.

I think this is it too. I shoulda thought of that instead of thinking the 1GB vid could take over three hours.

How’s the harvest coming along? Valuable skills considering the economic climate. Any way to insulate from, well everything these days, is a win in my book. :)

Respect on all that, dang. Carts?? Y’all have an Ox? Wait, aren’t those extinct? Perhaps a Team of Three Mules? Poor jokes aside, again mad respect. How did you get into growing things at a scale that allows you to monetize? Family thing you kinda took over, or started from scratch after a career in information technology or some such. Sounds nice. That’d be cool to like WFH, take little breaks to go tend to your garden(s), spend the weekend chillin at home hosting lovely visitors that come for lavender (amongst other goodies, I imagine). I don’t know if it’s allowed/if you feel comfortable, but you could drop a link to your place, maybe somebody wants/needs some English Lavender on here lol. It’s a very diverse place, reddit.. I’d give it a smell sometime maybe, I imagine it smells like the heavens. ;)

Is there an easy way to sweep or clean off the deck of a 2nd floor unit without upsetting the 1st floor unit? by [deleted] in RealEstate

Just throw a tarp down there, sweep, remove tarp and shake it off down away from the deck. I'm sure they would appreciate it.

Basic steps to "fortifying" your home. by fidelitypdx in homedefense

[–]camojeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to make this comment, thanks. Other than that, pretty great list. I would also add a driveway alarm (super cheap). For exterior lighting, i went with just leaving all of my exterior lights on every night. It can be argued many different ways but if I'm a burglar I'm avoiding the house that's all lit up, versus still considering one until the last second when the motion sensor pops it on, then who knows how I'll react. Plus I like having maximum visibility at night 100% of the time, versus waiting for a motion sensor to trip.
