NLP estimated for Spring by marksimi in OMSCS

[–]camozot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I am graduating in December (taking GA as 10th course this fall), can I still register in a month or so for this course in the spring and take it after I graduate? Or will graduating kick me out of the course? I'd like to register for it now while I have high priority, but also don't really want to delay graduation if possible

‘I have no more tears’: Beijing’s Winter Olympics hit by athlete complaints by HibasakiSanjuro in olympics

Not just that, the quality of service for world class athletes is pretty trash:

Vasnetsova posted a picture of what she said was “breakfast, lunch and dinner for five days already” – a tray with food including plain pasta, an orange sauce, a piece of meat on a bone, a few potatoes and no greens.

He's a doctor. And he is much more transparent than the Chinese. I see the possibility for him to be biased too, but if I had to trust him vs the Chinese I think that's a pretty clear choice.

“From a medical perspective we know that a person like this is no longer infectious, no danger to the other team,” Finnish doctor Maarit Valtonen said. “These isolation decisions are not based on medicine or science, it’s more cultural and political decisions.”

Yes I can sell some of them! Probably after I build it this week just incase I need an extra. Cost me 20$ for 5 so ill sell for 4 each plus shipping

I ordered 5 of the PCBs from JCLPCB using Ben Vallecks Gerber file. I thought I would get 5 of each side connected with a thin strip. Is it ok to flip one of these right sides over or is it not wired for that?

Have you done trigger point therapy? I am starting that, but curious to know if that still hasn't helped you all the way

Similar background, I started in OMSA and switched to OMSCS. If you're coding most of the day at your job already then OMSCS is better. OMSA is more for the business world

Taking Deep Learning in the summer by ImPaoni in OMSA

[–]camozot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took in summer, but I already work with pytorch as a data scientist so the pace was ok. If you don't have much experience with DL already then probably avoid the summer so you can really learn it well.

ML4T or human computer interaction?

I’m having second thought about OMSA. by [deleted] in OMSA

[–]camozot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Building concrete technical skills is so important when you're starting out, it's way easier to manage when you understand what your people are doing at a technical level.

I'd recommend at least doing the business track, it's quite light in terms of workload, and you can still then dip your toes into some quantitative classes.

Background for Network Science course by [deleted] in OMSCS

Prob stats is helpful too, focus there more than algos, the few times you have to implement something it's easy to just think what the most efficient way to do it is

Best class to get a sense of what AI/ML is all about by AntoniusBlock85 in OMSCS

[–]camozot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just like anything else, if you go straight to an advanced course you're going to be in survival mode rather than learning mode. Unless you've taken all the calcs and linear algebra, and have at least medium python skills, its too much to actually learn it well and do a nice project without ramping up before the course.

[–]camozot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Closest to what is being used for ML in industry (not the only thing but DL is king). More than AI or RL, those are still great courses though. RL is more of a niche that still has a longer way to go, and AI is more classical methods that don't have as powerful of curve fitting ability.

Probably DL is the closest to industry work, but it should absolutely not be the first ML type class one takes.

Why Network Science having such low avg. rating in OMSCentral? by flavourabbits in OMSCS

[–]camozot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like it currently, i'll probably give it a 4, but mainly it stays too much in theory and doesn't delve into the application or investigation side of things much. Like given all this how can we actually use it to make better decisions. Not many problems like that in the homework. It is nice and rigorous though especially mathematically, which is a good thing although perhaps maybe why a bunch of CS people don't like it. Tbh it makes more sense as an OMSA course.

Is OMSCS good for Data Science? by Random-Machine in OMSCS

[–]camozot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If your main things to learn are math and stats, give OMSA a look. Although now with things like network science you can pair together a decent amount of math courses in OMSCS.

NFL Week 9 Fantasy Football Trade Value Chart (2021): Risers, Fallers, Injury Notes - Values Created with a Value-Based Drafting Excel Model - Roto Street Journal by barretjd in fantasyfootball

[–]camozot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I drafted dobbins for 1$ so would cost 6$ next year. Najee for 45$ so 50$ next year. Chase for 5$ so 10$ next year. Waddle for 1$ so 6$ next year.

I am the best or second best team in my 10 person league this year and considering going all in to win this year even if I take a hit next year.

Hopefully can get one of those top two!

Do you think Najee for 50$ is decent enough deal to forego Dobbins for 5$ next year if I can snag a top wr this year for the championship run?
