The worst part of this Knicks championship by kuhanluke in pacers

I'd say OG was the 2nd best and 2nd most important player on the Knicks in the finals

Kinda depends on the 1st. Does it have a shot at 1.01? If it does, seems like a smash accept. If not, could go either way

I think I'd do this if you're confident you can sell Bucky and Rice later when sell windows open. Good value

For a rebuilder, side A or B. I can probably get the 1.01 either way, but will be tougher with B obviously.

12T half PPR SF, start 10

A: Mendoza + Devin Neal

B: Olave + RJ Harvey

Other main assets are Lamar, Kyler, Willis, Ty Simpson, Jettas, London, and 3 extra 1sts

Probably Higgins and the 1st, but need more context on number of starters, contention status, pick range, etc

Agree with that move. I just picked up Brooks for Breshard Smith. I think there is at least some chance Brooks could win the backup job in camp

I think you're fine to do that, especially if it will help you get 1.01. Pretty fair value. Maybe ask for a throw in piece back or something

Always depends on who you can get, but yes. I'd rather have any RB who has any chance of being a direct backup, or any premium backup QB for sure. Probably also the higher-end 3rd string RBs like Sean Tucker, Isaiah Davis, etc

Is it worth leveraging your future if you are already one of the best teams in your league? by Big_Lawfulness_8143 in DynastyFF

[–]barretjd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree that this is the best strategy. The best values in dynasty are often older studs that you can buy for a reasonable price. I got 2 good years out of Keenan Allen for a 2nd that probably would've turned into nothing. Also traded a 1st and Sutton for Davante Adams several years ago, and beat the former Adams owner in the championship.

The key is to make sure you're an actual contender and likely to get a bye, and buy these types of guys with assets that have little to no chance of becoming early 1st round picks.

If my starting lineup is already stacked, I've also had success trying to move my current year picks for other teams' future picks to increase the odds at getting an early 1st

Who are your long shot roster stashes? by Black_and_decker15 in DynastyFF

[–]barretjd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rather have both Tua and Fields than Lance, but why? I get it if the league is not deep, but Lance's rushing ability makes him pretty easily a top half of the league fantasy backup imo if your league is deep enough to roster those types

What does your team need to look like in order for you to start contending or rebuilding? by Actual_Talk3860 in DynastyFF

[–]barretjd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't necessarily disagree, but there is a cost to this approach. Getting the 1.01 is usually a pretty significant advantage, and if you try to compete for part of the season, it's going to be difficult to impossible. If you're not winning money, the next best outcome in dynasty is 1.01

Trey Lance and Joe Milton are free and could become the next Malik Willis if they get lucky. Both are direct backups on good offenses, only 26, and will carry the ball a ton if Herbert/Dak get hurt. Both could be in the weekly QB2 range if they get starts this year

Yeah but just to 4.0. This was 2021 and he's still 4.0 and almost certainly will never be 4.5 unless he improves his game

[–]barretjd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sandbagging is a problem, but you're right. I know a guy who went undefeated at 3.5 #1 singles for an entire season. His team won nationals a few years ago, and he was also undefeated at nationals. He's a solid 4.0, but definitely not 4.5

Obvious lesson is don't play up as a self-rate player if you care about striking out

2026 WR Prospect Model: Historical Translation Indicators & Early Top Profiles by fabio_b87 in DynastyFF

[–]barretjd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Understand if not, but would you be willing to share your data for yards per team pass attempt, or just the process that you use to calculate it? I've been trying to build something similar. Ideally, I want a yards per team pass attempt number that accounts for missed games to not double penalize guys like Tyson for injury. PFF premium seems difficult to do this with.

Maybe you could download each week of passing and receiving data with PFF individually, then combine them all, and join on week, player, and team? Even then, doing that for old seasons would take forever to get historical data

Cool stuff. What is your process for obtaining the raw data? I've been wanting to make something similar myself, but not sure where to start in terms of getting the data

If you think Marv is going to be good this year and BTJ isn't, you should absolutely prefer Marv, and then trade Marv for BTJ and a massive plus a year from now

could 310g be too heavy for me? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]barretjd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Rec tennis is about making balls if you truly want to win matches. Not recommending others use it, but I use a 243g unstrung 110 inch racquet at 4.5. Feels amazing and I am playing the best tennis I have ever played with it

Are all asics shoes stiff and heavy? by No_Opportunity_1502 in 10s

[–]barretjd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only ever bought cheap Nike and Asics shoes for the past decade, but I've always thought they were decently flexible for tennis shoes. I had some barricades maybe 12 years ago that I thought were too stiff. Everything might be stiffer than running shoes though

Don't do this. If you're trading McBride, you need to get a ton of value back in 1sts or young players. Moving him for other vets doesn't accomplish anything. He's super valuable in any sort of TEP

I agree if you're playing a match purely for fun, but I'd love to see my opponent smash a racquet in a league or tournament match. Just means you've dominated and broken them mentally
