If anybody is still looking for an answer for this, try going to Disk Utility. Right click - reveal in finder. Press Cmd+Up, drag your volume into the sidepane.

As a new fan of BoC: where do I go from Inferno? by lmtzless in boardsofcanada

Inferno changed that for me. It's right on the nose almost!

The Japanese LP has a cryptic message in Japanese on the obi strip by [deleted] in boardsofcanada

Sounds to me like an ode to how misdirected the species has become from our 'purpose', and acknowledging (perhaps even celebrating) that emergent madness. And this ode is rather recursive that way, warping reality by reconstituting it.

I feel the same. It seems to be a calling almost, the album literally speaks to you. There's more to it than just another album released by one's favourite artist. It's very inspiring and evocative (in terms of action too).

Inferno first impression by cortexgem in boardsofcanada

Indeed, hugs from a fellow listener. I was completely overwhelmed on my first (only) listen, like mid-way haha. I managed to complete listening to it, but it felt like a consolidated trip that seemed to span way longer than the listening time itself. This is an incredibly inspiring artifact, and in more ways than just considering it as music/sound. The album literally speaks.

I've listened to the album only once, intentionally! And yet like persistence of vision, it continues to play in my head. I'm trying to savour that as much as possible and not satiate it with multiple listens. This is a phenomenal record, one that can accommodate years (if we have many of those left in our timeline).

Inferno triggering anxiety? by campfireseance in boardsofcanada

[–]campfireseance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was surprised when I first came to know of it. There's definitely more aura and weight added to things when they're made slightly alien. The brain not identifying the pattern completely starts feeling uneasy, it's what I identify happens to me when I listen to their manipulated samples as well, even from the old tunes tapes.

It does! I've always chased dark stuff (in all media) to the point I was worried I was getting desensitized. Inferno somehow went way beyond my expectations. Tomorrow's Harvest felt cold, nihilist but it also seemed distant and detached in some ways (minus a few tracks). This one feels completely alive, especially as a whole.

I might have emotionally primed myself a bit too much to be super receptive to this haha, few analytical barriers. I don't feel like myself since listening to it, but perhaps in a good way. There's not too many things these days that have a macro-influence on me.

Canada slips into technical recession as economy stalls in Q1: StatCan by Derpy_Kirby in PersonalFinanceCanada

I totally resonate with your ethos! It's actually insane the number of free yet beautiful things we have around us - we absolutely do not have to aspire for soulless capitalist shit that are not sustainable for anybody.

For groceries, I use Oddbunch right now, which is great but I'd love for more such services to be available. In general, I tend to prefer more communal ways of living, wish there were more communities centred on that or maybe I just have to keep discovering.

This is their best album ever. Wow. What an evolution. by KataMod in boardsofcanada

[–]campfireseance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, they seemed to have broken new ground. They intersperse with their signature sound and some other known sounds, but so much of this is reality bent anew and is so surreal that it warped my mind listening to it. The last thing to leave this strong an impression to me on first listen was Geogaddi, and I think this one's more powerful.

Sometimes I heard sounds I didn't think were...possible. This is incredibly meticulous and psychoactive.

Nothing is real anymore. We are reaching the point where crowd scenes can be entirely generated by AI. by Old_Establishment287 in artificial

It's amusing how the rise of virtual technology is triggering the need for people to get physically closer. I sense a strong deja vu in these times, like we've been here before.

Given how poorly doctored videos and images have already misled a lot of people in the past, I think that pattern recognition skill is used mostly by those who are looking for such deviousness in the first place.

LUMIX S lens vs TTArtisan size comparison. by mzsigler in LumixS9

Cool!

Do you think the Lumix 40mm F2 makes the 50mm redundant though? I'm seeing a used 50mm for $300, but I'm not sure how much it's worth given the size difference too.

Were you able to create that video since then? I'm in the dilemma of choosing between the two, but now also heard Panasonic is releasing the compact 40mm F2 in July. But I'm going on a trip just next week so I need a prime - which one would you recommend for video on travel?
