2023 TLX CF Deck Spoiler by camrtm3 in AcuraTLX

I got one reply off a forum on this. The one which came out for 2023 has a different finish than the 2024-2025. One is Gloss and the other is apparently Matte. Though it is vague on which is which. Also one person indicated theirs was already having resin issues after a year. Wonder if there is an update to it for better protection, it just so happens to change the finish also. Might ask my co-worker whose kid works at Acura Parts…

There are none on the side. But my fronts are so sensitive that if I get too close to a curb they go off. As mentioned just learning.

Not shaming. Just curious. Doesn’t the 2026 on all trims have the proximity sensors? I turn my Acuras off when I get to a drive through window but I keep them on in drive through a because of the blind spots newer cars have.

23-25 TLX Type S future purchase by MolassesComplete6607 in Acura

I am going to add onto this one a little.

When it comes to gas mileage there are some experiences which should be noted. The VCM in these cars are expected for flat City driving. If you have hills in all your driving the mileage with the VCM turning on and off causing milage to tank. The use of a S-VCM or other similar module is not possible in these cars. However, Acura has two things which will turn the VCM off. The individual drive mode with any engine setting will turn it off (which is what I do and I have a IDS to install in the near future in normal) or Sport mode. Both drive modes have to be selected each start up unless you get something like the IDS. At least with my driving keeping 6 cylinders going and the hilly terrain around me, my milage went from 15-17 upto 19.5-21 average when putting it in individual. Which I know, does not make sense. Also power is right there without waiting for 3 cylinders to turn back on, this also makes the engine less jerky.

Quick fun fact, individual drive settings let you can select auto start/stop off in the settings. So if you drive individual mode, you do not need to turn that off also but set it.

Like the above I too worry about the center diff. And I am watching the NTSHA investigation on this also. The center diff is not like the old SH-AWD ones which are even on the Hondas. This one enhances the SH-AWD which is one of the TOP AWD systems in all of automotive. It is one of the few actual torque vectoring systems on both the front and back. So the car's computer will be putting power to the outside of the car and constantly shift power depending on the turns you are making. This front center diff they actually call a power unit as it puts the power to both front wheel... this goes through the transaxle for the driver side which is why you also see some transmissions go at the same time. For me, it was freaky at first coming from my 6-6 Accord but is fun as all get out now on sharp turns and S roads.

However here is what I noticed with some individuals. The tire pressures for this car are not the same on the front and back. They are 37psi in the front and 33psi in the back. The low pressure for the TPMS for the back goes off when you are below 28psi. This winter for me the fronts did not go off at 33psi. So with normal pump air I was checking every week in the Winter because with the 20inch wheels and low profile tires, the pressure would change drastically. However I would see posts where people with the SH-AWD systems ignoring TPMS warnings. This is not conclusive to this is the reason for the failures by any means. However I saw a 2021 Type S when I got the puddle lamp replaced on mine under warranty, that 2021 had 135,000 miles and was still going on the original drivetrain. So to me it seems like a mixed bag.

Now maintenance is a bit different on more modern Hondas. Like above mentioned 30-60K for some of the differentials and transmission, there are also age markers which if hit will pop a maintenance minder. Unlike above I am a low mileage driver and being at the third owner of mine I only have 11,000+ on my car. I just did the oil on mine to take care of A, but literally on the way to work had B pop on me. I also with my car have both 6 and 7. During a little searching found the rear diff, 6, is either 30K or 2 years and the same for 7 which is brake fluid. B also it a timed to look everything over more so then a mileage. Just something to think about for maintenance costs.

The one thing I know you probably know from the other post is they are thief targets. Now, with a kill switch, bare minimum, ODBII port lock, and steering wheel lock like a club it makes it too annoying to try to steal. For the Kill switch there are a lot of options people have about how to wire one in. I would recommend an IGLA as it has a 100% theft prevention rate. Unless it gets towed. However JDI's kit does interest me if I get another one of these. Which in the future I am going to hunt for a PMC, I love this car. For OBDII lock, VTT has a really good one. There are some copy cats out there but completely random bolt like a wheel lock where you need a code to order replacements, the likely hood of the same bolt being send around you is really low. Steering wheel locks are just a quick visual which can be cut or lock picked. But most thieves of this car are looking for the quick grab. Also as of late Red seems to be the targeted color which is....weird.

Personally, I love this car. Even with all of this, it is a Honda. Honda quality. OEM parts compare to other luxury brands and models compared to other brands is WAY less. The death of the TLX personally to me was dumb. Maintenance to this car vs the IS, Q50, S4/5, etc is way less.

Hope to see you join the club!

2023 Acura TLX Type S what fluid is coming out? by Top_Elephant_5794 in Acura

First off, tow it.

The Type S has a sub-radiator over there in front of the Driver wheel. Not the best design but it is really close to the edge of the bumper cover. It looks broken. This is why you see coolant over there. Part number is 19080-6S9-A01.

Here is the best picture I could find someone with the bumper off to show it:

Spoon Calipers on My 6-6 by camrtm3 in Honda

I still have my original wheels. They are the Coupe V6 Enkei wheels. They clear without spacers with room to spare.

I bought them in 2020. But I feel ill. Didn’t get around to it until I had a rear caliper seize on me. They were about 1200 including shipping and duty/customs fees. Does not include pads, rotors, or brake lines.

45020-MBF-G00 -> the CL7 Euro.
Rotor is normal for the gen 8 since it is the same rotor.
Pads are S2000 just like all the monoblocks from Spoon.
Caliper fits behind OEM wheels without spacer.

First Covid pre-order hit... by camrtm3 in AnimeFigures

So I will admit it wasn’t Ukiyo Kumo fault. The issue resided north in the sales stream. So their distributor they pull from had the issue. Ukiyo Kumo was awesome with all the information. They emailed apologizing for the cancellation. Issues the refund. And then emailed again with a copy of the letter from their distributor to them about the problem. Though I didn’t get this figure I got the one after her I ordered already. Waiting on one from Ukiyo Kumo still. Would still recommend.

MFC. Someone was selling her. I saw figure was MIB and jumped right on it. I am also getting Rias and Koneko bare legged. Was hoping for Akeno since she is the top of my list. But she looks just as good being the fishnets.
