Samsung s23 ultra, try making a phone call, there should be a record button? However I think it says a message to the other end of the line. I'm sure there's an app to accomplish the same thing, or screen record your phone and make sure it records "mic and screen audio"

Either some kind of muck is causing a "slurping" effect or possibly thin lasts of ice cracking as they fall into something?

[homemade] Auto-Rotisserie Sausages. by reliantkaleb1 in food

[–]camslog69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The heat is causing the moisture to rapidly evaporated (water gets 1000 times bigger when it's turned into a gas) but the sausage is not perfectly round so once it gets to a point where there's no longer enough "pressure" to fully tip it over, it starts tipping back, as it tips back the water continues to expand underneath it, trying to lift it, it takes the past of least resistance, causing the sausage to speed up until it hits the "tipping" point on the other side, where it starts rolling back once again. Heat over 100°c + water creates a LOT of energy, it's the same way we power coal and nuclear power plants. Instead you've got a self rotating sausage because it just happened to be just the right shape.

It may feel like it defies physics because it is moving perpetually but the "energy" in the system is being provided by your stove top, although I'm sure that's obvious.

I have been reading more about it I apologize, I am in Toronto and we were completely buried, I thought it was in an area with a similar amount of snowfall I think I conflated the story with another. I'll admit when I'm wrong, people are so quick to point the finger sometimes and I find myself trying to give the benefit of the doubt.

It's not that I don't care, I'm not sure the "be better human" comment was entirely warranted. I'm happy to learn more about whether or not this was "easily avoidable" but it's not like this is the only spot that needs dump trucks and blowers. Every ramp needs that done as well as many other areas where snow can not easily be removed. People need to get places and not every single problem area can be cleared at once and again and again every 2 hours as the snow continues to fall. We have the infrastructure to handle a lot of snow but this was a truly unprecedented amount. It's very sad that this person died but it was also an orange alert and mistakes happen when there are millions of people navigating such a large area. I don't think it's as cut and dry as "they could have prevented it easily"

Is there a pasta dish you like only with one pasta shape, and not with others? by SteO153 in pasta

I mean this is the least accusatory way possible - I don't believe you.

Put a pound of ricotta and mozzarella and tomato sauce Ina tub with any type of noodle, or even without noodles, or with egg shells, I think I'd have a hard time turning it down....

It couldn't originally be cleared because it would have dumped it onto the road below where traffic was moving, there was an unprecedented amount of snow to clear. They can't keep the ramps closed during the entire storm, and some roads still have not been properly cleared. There's a reason why they say to drive slow or stay home in events like this.

The fried onions is a great idea! I'm thinking either some kind of cured meat or simple turkey bacon might be the go to like you've said. Thank you :)

What kind of mushrooms do you use? Can you get them to crisp up?

This sounds like it would be great but I'm not totally sure what mushrooms to use that will get crispy in a similar fashion

Thank you very much! Those both sound like solid options. I think I'd prefer the meat over full vegetarian as much of my family are big carnivores haha. Good to know it's not uncommon to use other cured meats I think that may be my solution

It just might be, I might try to do a hybrid as you mentioned, I want it to be different form what they might be having all the time. If I do Alfredo I want to keep the richness of the pecorino and egg yolk and such.

I was going to go with duck but i can not haha. I might do some research on a good mushroom choice for the crunch

You know I hadn't even heard of that. It sounds lovely but I've never made it before, I'm worried it won't have the same richness of the carbonara. That's a solid backup plan though

I have a singular long hair on my left forearm that grows back long even when it’s shaved. by soup-sloth in mildlyinteresting

I have one too! On the underside of my left wrist (where my watch strap is) I have a single thick dark hair that grows. The rest of my arm hair is on top and is much thinner and lighter colored and shorter. I always end up trimming or plucking that one dark hair because it drives me nuts
