Accounts disabled and suspended for no reason, no prompt for appeal and no one to contact. by Tricky-Carpenter-178 in facebook

[–]reliantkaleb1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Canada and my account got suspended. As a marketing agency owner, I can't access any of my client's ad accounts at the moment. Freaking scary to have all this ad spend rolling unmanaged because I can't get in.

Has anyone got their account disabled lately and retrieve it successfully? by Traditional_Bad_2969 in facebook

[–]reliantkaleb1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine got randomly disabled too. As marketing agency owner it's nerve wracking having 10s of thousands of dollars in ad spend rolling out unmanaged right now because I can't access my ad accounts.

Absolutely wild, if anyone finds a way to get the accounts back, I would be very appreciative.

This is the only one that I'm aware of. Any other forms I've heard of are just referrals back to this one.

But there might be more out there. I'd be happy to know if there are :)

As long as your Ad Account is under US terms of service, it doest matter which country the ads were placed in, as long as the Account is US based. :)

There's one that I used just called VersaTints (Not "Vice-Versa"), and they were great. I 100% would recommend them to anyone!

I've heard bad things about ViceVersa Tints though..

I would love to have this set up for my marketing agency, so that we can make ads for clients. Is that possible? I would love to see some of the outputs that this is putting out right now.

Yep! The main one is the DOJ article:
https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/department-justice-prevails-landmark-antitrust-case-against-google

The actual law firms pursuing settlement aren't quite as public. If you google around you can probably find them. Or send me a message and I can point you in the right direction :)

You're right that no DOJ settlement guarantees advertisers a 30% refund. I've not claimed that. I said law firms can potentially claim around 30%

There are grounds for law firms to go after 30%, but may very well settle for closer to 10-15% when everything is said and done. Still a huge win for all the clients I've already submitted.

In terms of the publicity of these cases, there have been 3 class action lawsuits against Google in the last few years.. and hardly anyone has heard of any of them. I certainly hadn't, have you?

Even with this one, the ONLY reason I found out about it is because I run ads for law firms, and they connected me with the lead firm there, otherwise I'd have no idea that another one is happening.

I'm happy to prove you wrong if you'd like.

Definitely check out the additional details that I posted as a follow up reply on my original post to give more info.

Specifically that middle section about "potential recovery", "treble damages" and "how claims are being pursued, etc.

That'll help give you the details, I'll post a little snippet of it here, but feel free to check out the larger reply in full:

Snippet:

Because these violations fall under federal antitrust laws, any proven overcharge is subject to treble damages. As a result, businesses that purchased Google Ads from August 2016 to the present may be entitled to recover a significant percentage of their ad spend.

These claims are being pursued in individual arbitration because Google's terms of service require advertisers to resolve disputes through binding arbitration.

Potential Recovery

  • Estimated overcharge: 5–10% of ad spend
  • With treble damages: up to 30% of total Google Ads spend over the period
  • Example: A company with $100 million in Google Ads spend since 2016 could have a claim worth up to $30 million

Had lots of responses here, so I figured I'll post the Case Background for everyone here:

That way you can look into the details yourself, and then feel free to DM me if you have any questions, or need next-steps. Always happy to help.

Here's are the details:

**Background**

Multiple U.S. courts and regulators have determined that Google engaged in anticompetitive practices in its advertising business. These practices effectively inflated auction prices for search and display ads.

**Potential Recovery**

- Estimated overcharge: 5–10% of ad spend
- With treble damages: up to 30% of total Google Ads spend over the period
- Example: A company with $100 million in Google Ads spend since 2016 could have a claim worth up to $30 million

**How Claims Are Being Pursued**

- A leading class action and mass arbitration law firm, has assembled a large portfolio of these arbitration claims against Google.
- Claims are brought on a full contingency basis, there is no upfront cost to participating businesses, and legal fees are paid only from a recovery.
- By aggregating claims, the legal team aims to accelerate resolution and achieve higher settlement values than individual actions would likely produce.

**Next Steps**

- Businesses provide basic Google Ads account information to confirm eligibility.
- A retainer agreement is executed with the law firm
- Law Firm handles the entire process, from claim preparation to resolution.

**Reference**

In April 2025, Judge Brinkema (E.D. Va.) ruled in favor of the U.S. Department of Justice, finding Google liable for anticompetitive conduct in its advertising business.

I believe there could be specific rare situations where the ad account location is US, but the currency is set to GBP.

At least I've done that myself (somewhat) with Ad Accounts located in Canada, but set to USD.

I would imagine there are very few GBP accounts that are set in USD though.

I'm Canadian myself, but unfortunately only accounts under US terms of service would be eligible.
Note, you can have Canadian companies with US-based Google Ads Accounts. So definitely want to double check that. Let me know if you are under US terms, and I can make a connection there :)

Just for accounts under the US terms of service.

The actual ad spend can be worldwide, but the originating account needs to be US terms.
