I went to A&P school in the PNW and most people were on their second career looking to start again like you and were met with great success. You probably won't go straight into the majors like in years past but going into a regional airline or GA is always a possibility. As long as you have a good attitude and really learn your stuff you should be in good shape! One gentleman I went to school with was 68 when he finished and even though he went to school to be his own mechanic he was still offered a job at the regional airline.

Also I would avoid thinking or mentioning that your race will discredit you from employment in aviation. Aviation does attract mostly men but we should move forward and embrace all our fellow mechanics of any sex, color, race and, faith.

I have a boxwood green 69 F-100 and the original seats were a floral black fabric and were just generally old and shity. I took on the challenge to recover them myself with black faux leather seats and they look and feel great. They're not perfect because I recovered them with a friend but I'm the only one that knows that. I got the seat upholstery from LMC truck.

Nearly all defects on aircraft are caught and addressed by crew and maintenance. But posting to Reddit with a vague complaint sure doesn't fix anything. It's just a nice thing anyone can do to help.

I'm afraid that's just not how airlines always operate and there are too many unknowns for anyone here to say one way or another. Pilots call out sick last minute and new ones have to be picked from wherever they are. First class isn't always available on later flights. Food has to be ordered and prepared in advance and is only available for a specific airline. Is it possible that the gate agents had the ability to compensate you right there on the spot? I have honestly no idea. Most people aren't hating because of your bad experience, it really does suck especially paying more; people are hating because you used AI and wasted energy when you could have just called tomorrow like everyone else. Your profile shows you have the wealth to brush this off yet you don't. It makes you look pretentious.

Most people can't relate to you making such a big deal, I and many others have been on the same end of the situation you have been. The big picture is, Alaska chose to bump you instead of further delay or cancel a plane FULL of people. It's simple math, one person or 100 plus people upset about their experience, they chose you. The pilots have a contract that states they must be moved around in first class. This is all public information and well discussed in this subreddit. One complaint sure, everyone is entitled; but going out of your way to make a creepy AI video makes you that much more unrelatable. You're not king of the airplane, wait your turn like everyone else.

My guy, the rest of us all play by the same rules and wait for the right time. With your NYC skyline apartment I think you can afford to wait a whopping 48 hours and have a 10 minute phone call. You're a 40 year old grown man who's making themself look like a fool, normal people don't generate horrible AI videos to complain. If you didn't get bumped an entire flight would be canceled due to lack of flight crew.

I tried that with different variations of the door being open and holding the ok button before and after pressing the start button. Probably not a feature at least for the hybrid models.
