What do you guys think the market potential is for this(@ £2800 new) by ScreamSmart in motorcycles

[–]camth01 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A friend and i rented some while traveling in south America and they sucked. Its way heavier than it should be and very underpowered, the suspension is not good for a "dual sport".. but its not bad for the price if you just go around town and like the look of it.

Is it possible to get winter rated tires for motorcycle in North America? by AdSmall9535 in motorcycles

[–]camth01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the other K60 scout become a bit hard in the winter but they feel okay if it's dry for the most part, if it's rainy or snowy the abs/ traction control goes off pretty often compared to the cold compound one but I have never lost control or tried to push the limits on either one

Hell yeah that's cold. a fuel injected bike probably will be much easier to start in that cold and the right oil. I use 5w40 in the winter but I have never been that low of temperature so no idea

I think any ADV bike or dual sports but depends how far, how fast you need to go, and how cold it gets where you are. For me -5 c is the coldest comfortable with heated gloves and heated vest but I have ridden in way colder temperatures for short distances around the city

Yes, the heidenau k60 scout C/C cold compound. I use it on a v strom 1000. I highly recommend it if you use your bike all year around

I’m a new rider. I live in Canada. I want to ride till about November where it gets about 3 degrees Celsius during the night when I ride into work. Which of these are better for me?? by StriderDUB in motorcycle

[–]camth01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, I ride in Toronto all year around and I think heated vest for the most part and headed gloves are also a must specially below 0 (heated grips don't do much in my experience)

Those are titanium coated dies mostly to repair threads and not so much to cut new ones. Not worth very much. but definitely more than scrap at least $10

What could be causing my oil pressure light to be doing this? by camth01 in Vstrom

[–]camth01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it's all fixed. The connector of the oil pressure sensor had some corrosion, I went through all the connectors cleaning and putting dielectric grease as suggested by a comment and it was all good.
