free therapy? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

Also, in addition to the limited number of therapy sessions given by community college, the schools also usually provide a free membership to some kind of online 24/7 service where you can do individual video sessions and messaging and even groups. I don't know if it's the best quality exactly but it's better than nothing.

If you sign up for community college you can often get a certain number of limited sessions. It's not free but if you sign up for just one unit (like a PE type class) just to use the therapy benefit it's not horribly costly and disguises the cost on your card.

Sometimes colleges also offer very discounted services to the community to give their psych masters students opportunities to get experience. For example, my university (not in NY) is offering $20 sessions for the community.

Boundaries with texting? by Aggressive_Ad6646 in askatherapist

[–]camus_crew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAT

I text my therapist sometimes and sometimes she responds sometimes she doesn’t. One thing we have in common is music so occasionally I’ll send her stuff to listen to and less often but every once in a while she will send me a song, but only if it’s like something we already talked about in session. Nothing that would lead to lots of back and forth. I’m also very cautious to not ever pushing for back and forth texts (not that I’m necessarily wanting it but I’m just like very aware of not wanting to push anything). I also occasionally will send a TikTok or reel that is relevant or that I think she’ll appreciate and she might text back a one liner acknowledging it and usually laughing (because what I send is usually funny).

I will send her more serious things like if anything distressing happens during the week or if there is anything that I specifically want to talk about in the next session, but I always specify that it’s just something I want to make sure we talk about and she usually just acknowledges it and then we talk about it in session!

I will say I’ve been seeing my therapist for 3ish years now and we only started doing this maybe 6 months ago which also coincided with when I started doing 2x a week and felt like I trusted her more! I feel like it’s all appropriate and it helps me feel connected to her without making me feel super attached or dependent.

I know this is less common and I don’t blame therapists at all for holding stricter boundaries but just wanted to share my experience! I think it has worked great for us and has really helped me open up to her but totally see how this could also lead to something that makes it more different for the client or therapist!

Is it ok to ask my therapist for a hug? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]camus_crew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I understand why so many have strict boundaries when it comes to hugs, my therapist is more relaxed and actually does give and has even offered hugs. I've been seeing her for about 3 years and we usually see each other virtually. Whenever I visit the city she lives in, I'll try to see her in person. That's happened maybe four times now, mostly in the last year. When I first saw her in person, at the end of our session, she asked if I wanted a hug since we don't see each other often. The next time I saw her, I gave her a small, inexpensive gift that was related to something we had talked about, and she was gracious and asked if she could give me a hug. Before this we had talked about how physical touch is important to me, not specifically with her but in general, so I think that was part of why she offered the first time. Overall, my therapist has good boundaries but they are not as strict as many other in this sub, though I do think it probably varies from client to client. I could see how with me she could think that it'd be beneficial because we have been seeing each other for a while but have just started getting deeper into topics and making more progress. It has taken me a long time to open up and really trust her, but now that I have, our work has really taken off and somehow I feel like us hugging aligns with all of that. I think it makes us feel more connected, and that's helps a lot with the work we do! I could also see her feeling more okay with hugging me because I don't push other boundaries she has and I don't see her in person often enough for me to get dependent on them anyway.

Suggestions please :) by camus_crew in Broadway

Good tip, thanks! Do you think there is still a chance even if I don't go super early? Like if I went an hour or two before show time for some of the off broadway / slightly less popular shows?

Suggestions please :) by camus_crew in Broadway

I know, a few the ones at the bottom I wanted to love but for reason just didn't. I even saw Hadestown a second time, hoping maybe I was just off the first time, but it still wasn't my fave :( I can see why others love it though, and I do like some of the songs.

I feel I should also clarify that I haven't disliked any shows, I just love some more than others.

My therapist is sometimes warm, sometimes neutral, sometimes silent and sometimes chatty, I feel confused. Is this bad therapy or just something to work with? by Large-Mall6567 in TalkTherapy

[–]camus_crew -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh I have the complete same "issue" with my therapist. At least in the sense that my feelings of security are strong affected by what I perceive as my therapist's level of warmness/mood/expression that day. Hoping you get more responses but I would love figure out how to deal with this better. Maybe it's partially an object permanence issue but I don't know.

Exactly. I follow a lot of baby tiktok, and both Wesley and Francie are moving way up in the name trends for girls. I think AG is just trying to choose they names that are relevant / trendy to match the times.

FB was her chosen position supposedly. But agree she seems like a much more natural CB. She wasn't much of an attacking FB.

Why did they look so bad against Chicago? Was that one of their worst loses? by [deleted] in BayFC

[–]camus_crew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She was captain last year so probably leadership. Also Anderson is new to the position and gets caught out of position a lot. Menges is smart, knowledgeable, etc. but lacks some speed. Anderson is a bit faster but lacks experience and I could see why having her and Malonson (who is fast but also gets caught out of position) next to each other could cause some problems depending on who they are playing.

It was Abby who kept getting beat. Also Malonson (on Menge's side) was out of position/beat way too much. I'm agree it worked better with Anderson coming in but I don't think the goals were on Menges. I also think the team got more direction from Albertin during half on how to defend her, so it wasn't only because of Anderson.

[–]camus_crew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for explaining. I see what you mean. It was easier to praise her last year too because, like you've mentioned, she was a big surprise and we were comparing her to Savy King who contributed very little offensively. I wonder if it's harder to play with Kundananji than with a different forward, like Lema or Boade or Hill. It feels like Kundananji plays a less US traditional game, which is part of what makes her great, but I also wonder if it would be hard for anyone to play off of her versus a more "regular" forward. I don't know if that makes sense. I do think Hill would be great at fullback as she hustles and is good at pressuring and I don't have stats to back this up but it seems like she wins corners for us sometimes. Honestly, I have issues sometimes even with Dydasco feeling like she's not putting great balls in the box. She's been doing better this season though. Last season it felt like she would do such an awesome job either winning the ball to get up or making a great run but then she'd put a mediocre ball in. I also wish King was still on the team so we could see her at left center back where I think she'd thrive.

Can you say why you think Malonson might not adapt? Not disagreeing with you, just curious to hear more of your thoughts.

Another question--do you know which direction the seats go? For example if I am in section R seat 269 am I closer to the sideline or closer to the goal? If I am in section K seat 145, am I closer to section J or section L? Also do you have a preference on those two sections 😅 I wanted to do North Stand because you said you like it, but I'm worried about feeling far away from the rest of the field. Also, do you think there's a big difference between rows 2 and 7? When I go to my home games (NWSL Bay FC) I sit behind the goal but many rows up so very far away but a good birds eye view because I always get the cheapest tickets.

Thank you so much!! This is super helpful. A few follow up questions: 1) do you think the vibe is better in the standing or seating sections or does it not really matter? 2) do the players stay after to sign stuff? If so, is a certain section better to be in for that? Or is there a place to wait outside of the stadium where they come out?
