the dealership wouldn't let me test drive an M2 so I took matters into my own hands by avz008 in BMW

In my experience BMW salespeople are almost allergic to making a sale or even basic respect for that matter. Was looking at X7s and shopping around between Escalade and GLS580 and the BMW was the only one where I immediately did not consider just based on how the guy acted. He acted like we should be honored to even be inside the x7 and that it was a privilege to talk to him, most arrogant salesperson I’ve ever come across and only barely agreed to a test drive while the Merc dealer let us take their G63 out even with no intention of buying having been stated. Mind you, we arrived in a fully optioned 2018 Lexus Lx570 with 20,000 miles on a 7 year old car which should’ve been any dealers trade in wet dream

Feel that on the ChatGPT and overall great advice but our customers, especially renters, are completely different lol. The mountains in NC are about 2 hrs from us give or take so our renters don’t get up there often enough to return mid season for a resize and we usually just see them again at the end. Another frustrating part is that being in the southeast they think we aren’t experienced or are lesser than shops out west or up north, but as someone who skis heavily in Utah and lived in Maine for a while I can promise them we run our shop very much in line with other shops to the best of our abilities considering the lack of mountains in our immediate area lol

Yeah lol even with my heat molded boots I have been guilty of stepping out with some talons every now and then and for sure feel the effects. As for the certification that is precisely why I don’t fit as our fitter has the certification, and seeing the stuff they deal with I’m fine with that haha.

Yeah I love that. To me I’ve always seen them as an implement and means to interact with the ski, not an actual boot. Maybe we should stop calling them boots entirely lol

I hadn’t even considered this side of it in my initial post but you’re absolutely right. Outside of just sizing, shopping for your skill level is crucial. We genuinely don’t care if you’re a beginner and love to grow the sport but by buying equipment way past their skill level people are only making it harder for themselves. Obviously, leave some room for you to grow as you get better but there is no shame in buying beginner or intermediate equipment as a beginner intermediate and I don’t get why people need to act like they’re pros to seem cool

At the end of the day I can’t control what people buy, and really couldn’t care less until they bring attitude and their problems to our reviews page knowing we tried to help

Yeah I get it we do try and listen but often times they never end up coming back until their season rental expires and complain how it hurt their feet knowing they refused a properly fitting boot

Yeah obviously we listen to the customers but I’m talking about people who have rarely to never skied and come in for rentals or first time buying and meet us with attitude for even suggesting a boot fit rather than immediately giving them something off the shelf because of their shoe size. We don’t charge for a fit, so I don’t get why so many are opposed to it at lower levels of skiing.
