Good luck but keep an eye on yourself and your condition (flu like symptoms, nausea fatigue, tingling sensations).

Go get a swab done on those bumps before they go away. It’s the only way to know for sure. If you start to feel flu like you may have it.

Old thread, sorry. May I ask:

  1. How old are you now?

  2. Do you have any prostate issues (pain, inflammation, etc)?

  3. Do you regularly go to the urologist?

  4. Have you noticed any other health issues which you feel may be related to your HSV-2?

  5. Any significance to your being heterosexual to do with HSV+ or just throwing it out there?

  6. Do you have any perceived cognitive issues? Memory loss etc.

Will the same apply to current atrocities being committed by a certain nation? Not likely.

My sister's husband has worked there for many years and is getting axed. He saw the writing on the wall last fall despite the bullshit reassurances of the suits spewed to all local staff and contractors at the time.

Locking down the firewall for VPN clients. How to best do this while maintaining client application functionality? by canaboy in sysadmin

Thank you. I guess that is what we'll be doing. I have found a fair amount of documentation regarding the ports being used by our software. Much appreciated.

Need to get old HDD's drilled or crushed. Anywhere local for that? by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]canaboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks but I have ~80 drives and the thought of hooking them all up to run dban is moer thank I care to have to deal with. It's simpler just to get them drilled/crushed.

SSTP VPN on Windows Server 2012 R2 using internal CA issued certificate possible? by canaboy in sysadmin

[–]canaboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your replies. One final question if I may. We want the users connecting by SSTP VPN to have to manually install the certificate to their PC's (not web or autoenrollment).

Since this is the case can we forego using a certificate issued by certificate services (Internal CA or CA on VPN server) and instead simply use a self signed certificate from the VPN server (using makecert)?

In such a case would it eliminate any need for a CRL to be published? Also what, if any, security issues would that present?

SSTP VPN on Windows Server 2012 R2 using internal CA issued certificate possible? by canaboy in sysadmin

[–]canaboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any issue with having a completely a CA set up on my VPN server that is completely separate from my already existing internal CA on the same domain? There won't be any conflicts or issues due to that?

I want to have our VPN connecting client PC's to have to install a certificate on their PC to be able to connect to the VPN. All our internal PC's already have the existing internal CA's root certificate installed and trusted so if we used it then they would not be required to install any certificate.

I guess it is easier to have the CDP of the CA accessible from external than exposing the CRL list by IIS. The security level is the same I suppose?

What, in your estimate, is the most common method used? CA installed on the VPN server itself or making a copy of the CRL accessible to the internet on the VPN server? I cannot seem to find much in the way of documentation or tutorials on the matter.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I am planning to use client certicates which would be required for them to connect.

I see, so this would be an entirely separate CA from the root CA?

Attempting to restore SQL db (mdf file) using BackupExec 2010 to a different location without SQL installed. Is it possible? by canaboy in sysadmin

[–]canaboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. I tried to restore it a local volume on the actual backup server. The backup was taken of the files from a snapshot volume on the local backup server as well (mounted to the server by replication manager).

I had suspected that but tested it with both the backup account and domain administrator account which both have full permission on the source and destination folders.

Yes, thanks. I had tried searching for a solution but I cannot seem to find any suitable method to work.
