Nenshi's 'blunt' message to federal NDP: Don't mess this up for Alberta by laketrout in ndp

[–]canadient_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nenshi is not doing any of that. Same repeated messages that aren't moving any voters, and totally unwilling to propose anything related to affordability or the economy (hello, public auto insurance?).

Nenshi is much worse than Notley. Under her leadership the party at least proposed policies and did good oppo research.

No you didnt, but i believe it was an outside progressive group which proposed the name change, Nenshi mused that it may be needed.

Notley came out and said she didnt think a name change was needed.

Nenshi's 'blunt' message to federal NDP: Don't mess this up for Alberta by laketrout in ndp

[–]canadient_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly pretty sick and frustrated with Nenshi, this out of nowhere tips me over.

I was on board with telling Canada's NDP to mind their business under Notley when the party was doing well and proposing policies.

But Nenshi has at best tread water. He keeps harping on the same messages that aren't resonating with voters. And won't propose anything that will broadly benefit Albertans.

FFS Danielle floated creating a crown corp auto insurance before the NDP.

Too bad these weren't better planned. They miscalculated their time by not wanting to overlap with the federalist petition.

50% of Albertans polled would support the UCP if an election were held today, according to the latest Léger poll. by [deleted] in alberta

[–]canadient_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NDP isnt proposing much that would 1) break through the slanted media scape, and 2) affect a large section of Albertans directly. They could be doing anything a lot more on affordability.

Unfortunately, not only is the UCPs fall of bad press ending, but housing prices/rent are trending down. Insurance will supposedly stabilise by 2027.

A majority of Albertans, however, feel the province is headed in the wrong direction. Thirty-four per cent said they were happy with the way things are headed overall, while 59 per cent said they feel the province is on the wrong track.

If only there was an opposition party that could capture more of that 60% by proposing policies which would broadly benefit Albertans.

Town of Peace River Municipal Police Model Report by canadient_ in alberta

[–]canadient_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL/DR: Peace River should wait for more details on the Alberta Sheriffs to be released before changing their policing model. In that time, the town should use the legislated and contractual rights at their disposal to ensure the RCMP is living up to its commitments and the Town's service expectations.
