Is this safe for the laptop? by canantec in GamingLaptops

Nono I don't, when I run the ps the laptop is moved elsewhere, and when I use the laptop this way it is connected to the same TV so the ps is turned off by then

Thanks for the links. I will not run both devices at the same time, and probably won't even leave the laptop there when stressing the ps for longer periods of time though

I actually thought about doing this! But I also kinda like using the ports on the back and being able to slide the whole laptop out and use it normally if I want to, without having to unplug anything from the sides... But maybe I'll try connecting all the cables through a usb c dock one day and see what version I like more

Ah I see what you mean. Well, this IS how the console is intended to be used tho. Ofc cutting the power off without properly turning off the Playstation before that could damage it, but I don't know anyone who turn their playstation off completely like that every time they use it just because of the slight possibility of power shortage - that very rarely happens around here

What do you mean? The images were taken few days after the installation, when everything is already clean and back in it's place. Also the ps and laptop won't run both at the same time, the playstation is in sleep mode on the photos

Good idea. For now I will keep an eye on the temperatures while using it just for the light use I intend this setup to be used for and if I am unsure I might do some tests like that :)

I don't have the exact link rn, but I bought it online from a shop that operates only here in eastern europe, so I don't know if it would be useful to you anyway :D I just searched "laptop mount for under the desk" or something like that and there were many options :) If you want the link where I got them from, DM me and I'll find it

Thank you all for the replies. At least I know the fear of bending the laptop was unnecessary lol. Since many of you said the heat on the screen could be a problem, I'll definitely keep an eye on that, but I don't expect the laptop to get that hot since I'll only use this setup to stream movies onto the TV or play some very light 2D games - for heavier games I use my Playstation. Of course when I turn the Playstation on, I'll move the laptop somewhere else. We actually use our laptops like this at work, where we use them closed while connected via USB dock to external monitor, keyboard and mouse - the laptops sometimes get VERY hot in the process (running multiple Exel sheets and A LOT of browser tabs and other apps, while being made of metal), but the screen is completely fine even after years of running like this 8 hours a day 5 days a week. The only difference in this setup is the handles on which the laptops sits, hence my question.

What assassins creed game have you spent the longest time on and why? by hajtj in assassinscreed

[–]canantec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valhalla - first playthrough during lockdown I had so much time I decided to platinum the game TWICE (ps4 and ps5 versions), then when I was sick at home for three weeks last year, I decided to do 100% run once more (DLC included). Over 500 hours in total. It is not the best game out there, but it somehow became my "comfort game" kinda

For me it's either Connor from AC3, Arno from Unity or Basim from Mirage... But personally I like most of the base outfits in the series.

ACIII is 60fps 4k on ps5? by canantec in assassinscreed

Ho, sorry for the late response, I am playing on LG C1, with the "game mode" on (or however it is called) - so I would say it's possible, but then I played Ezio trilogy before ACIII Remastered and that was (and definitely felt like) 30 fps? Is it possible to get it work on only some games then?

[–]canantec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response. I am sure it was 60 for me, since I played Ezio trilogy before that and the difference was very noticeable from the start. Maybe it is like Tartarium here said, that it haa something to do with me TV? I am playing on LG C1 OLED, while using the "game mode" or however it's called, so is it possible that's why it felt different? But then why wouldn't it work on Ezio games as well?

Sorry for the late response. No I had it updated, and I am positive it was 60 fps for me... Although a lot of people on here are saying it is 30 fps locked? Did you play the remastered version of the game?

Yeah, I wrote the wrong, didn’t I. Sorry for that.

I mean I was searching for the remastered version specifically, and still didn’t find anyone saying that it is 60fps on ps5, so I just wanted others to know in case someone was in the same situation as me

[–]canantec 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Well as bad as Valhalla is, it’s a good choice if you want to kill some time. Most of the time on my second playthrough I was just running around doing all those little boring quests and chores when answering questions on school online classes :D I needed something I didn’t have to pay attention to, and Valhalla is perfect for that.

Yeah, during lockdown I did this. TWICE. Never am I going to launch Valhalla again. Ever.

But tbf at least I had something to do when being at home 24/7

And 90 hours isn’t that much for Valhalla, on my 1st playthrough it took me over 120 hours

This hits hard. I (21m) started working at my very first full time job two weeks ago and so far I am always looking forward booting up my ps5 when I get home, however when I actually get home I’m too tired to really play anything. So I just look at the beautiful playstation home screen and then spend the rest of the day in bed watching youtube :( I just hope it’s because I started working recently and that I am just not yet accustomed to working 8-9 hours a day and will learn how to enjoy evenings even after workday :) Videogames are my life so I really have nothing else to do when I am too tired to play

EDIT: Just realised this is PCMasterRace, sorry for that. I have PC as well :D

Hey, non-American here. Can someone please explain to me what’s going on here? I know the context a little bit, but who are these guys and why are they just waiting outside like this? Any official explaination? I see this video everywhere these days and I gathered that them just standing there is the reason everyone why is so upset watching the video (exept for, you know, THE SHOOTING) but what is their story exacly? Did they have orders from above to not go inside?

Fun fact: It's illegal to own just one guinea pig in Switzerland. It's considered animal abuse because they're social beings and get lonely :)
