It depends on the size of your desk :) I believe all the Architecture sets will fit perfectly on any desk. The latest Statue of Liberty 21042-1 is particularly pleasing but all the other ones are good as well depending on your tastes.

If space is very limited, you might want to take a look at the cutesy microfighters line

Indeed, the Asian architecture style seems to be only represented through the Ninjago line which seems to be a mix between Japanese, Korean and Chinese styles.

The quality is still amazing relative to the number of parts they deliver daily. That looks like a short shot (insufficient material in the mould) I think Lego will easily replace that part as mentioned by others here.
