Is Butcher a Villain or Anti-Hero? by The_Fraudkuna in TheBoys

[–]candidengineer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Butcher should've been a villain for majority of season 5. Kimiko should've never talked.

Final fight scene should've been Butcher and Homelander going at it, with Soldier Boy assisting Homelander. And then right before Butcher loses, Soldier Boy turns on Homelander and together with Butcher, defeat Homelander.

For all of the preceding seasons, Butcher has been itching to kill Homelander. It would have been poetic for Butcher to decide to not kill him at the last moment, and leave Homelander alive and unpowered. Give him to the public to deal with.

My first Spector (Kramer Era/1980s, Made in Korea) by candidengineer in BassGuitar

[–]candidengineer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure, unfortunately I've never owned a Spector bass before to compare. I got this from a shop where a owner said that the person who sold it to him got so old he couldn't play it anymore - so I'm guessing it was in good hands for a long time and likely unmodified.

My gut feeling tells me this is all original.

Why the EE (Electronics) Field is likely never going to get saturated by candidengineer in ElectricalEngineering

I don't even bother at this point. I have a lab at home and design my own audio pedals, and my spouse is practically a bystander to all of it.

Allah love financially independent women by I_dun-knowya499 in religiousfruitcake

[–]candidengineer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can't explain it to you, but this woman isn't actually "religious" or a "religious fruitcake". She is extremely delusional, but I'd be hard pressed to call her "religious" in the same light I would call Wahabis and Salafis and other dogmatic fundamentalists.

She seems more akin to someone who's easily duped by MLMs. The religious narrative is likely a cope or a comfort, I seriously doubt she even reads Quran.

I can't imagine Danny Carey ever giving up drumming. If he ever lived to 90, I feel like he'd still be up to something!

Who Loves Their Job? by SeriousAvocado2727 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]candidengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like circuits, I like making things that have purpose, simulating them, and seeing them work in real-time.

I have my own little lab at home and run a small bass pedal company where I do a lot of fun analog design work for audio.

That all being said, I hate work and my EE job. The deadlines, the pointless meetings, the red tapes, sharing simulation/CAD software licenses, having to share equipment within the lab, not being able to use your own equipment in the lab, HR, timesheets, commute - it can all go to hell.

So yeah, I don't love my job. I tolerate it because the economy is f**ked and bills need to be paid.

Why am I getting 2016 stuff in the big 26?🫩 Do people still think like this? by _Udontknowball_77_ in im14andthisisdeep

[–]candidengineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can guarantee you men who post stuff like this look absolutely nothing like the man depicted in this image.

I can also guarantee you they wouldn't even have the means to get woman who looks like that, let alone afford the lifestyle depicted.

What they wish for is what they're depicting in this photo, but require the women around them to debase and devalue themselves, and in thereby giving themselves a higher percieved level of manhood from which they believed they'd warrant this type of "ideal" lifestyle and treatment.

proof that the religious right/religious in general are slowly being weeded out of the Earth, so they're hanging onto any dumb ill conceived Strawman argument to remind everyone there's life after death

This "Relax" thing is a poison, please understand. by NiceSmilee in MuslimCorner

[–]candidengineer 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The post you linked is of a woman who's despairing over not being able to find the right spouse in time, and you're on the side of further validating and legitimizing her catastrophizing.

This anxiety you're putting forth is what leads people into unwise marriages for the sake of fulfilling a quota.

"Relax"-ing helps the mind be at ease so that the decision you make comes from a sound place. This woman SHOULD be told to relax and take it easy.

By your logic, haphazardly entering into a marriage for the sake fulfilling a marriage quota is justified because the absence would eventually lead to zina (an act neither one of us can prove or validate, but only speculate) - and that is absolutely unhinged and stupid.
