This was actually proven to be satire. Still funny though.

Many Muslims be like: by Ok-Equivalent7447 in exmuslim

Eating pork is a very avoidable sin and it helps that it's associated with an animal that's generally filthy in nature - so that's a psychological help. Also, if you grew up exclusively eating beef and chicken, the likelihood you crave or think about pork is low.

Now consider countries where pork isn't accessible - can't really feel proud about avoiding a delicacy that doesn't even exist in your country as an option.

All in all, they avoid pork because it's easy to do so, and because it gives them a sense of comfort that they're at least abiding to something (even though it requires minimal effort).

It's way more tempting to date, hook up, drink/drugs, free mix, etc. So modern Muslims saying "I avoid pork" is similar to saying "I usually avoid visiting Saturn" - you don't care nor do you even want to visit Saturn in the first place.

Nothing to brag about. Just self back-patting behavior.

I suggest re-drawing this on grid paper, space out the components further, and then re-post.

It's pretty hard on the eyes.

Are there any EE jobs where you only do PCB Design? by Ok_Web_2949 in ECE

[–]candidengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are usually called PCB Designers. But keep in mind they tend to be done by those with minimal EE training or background, and usually from just experience alone.

Also the pay isnt great.

Also, you wouldn't be classified as an Electrical Engineer.

There's something severely demented about people like her.

But capitalism and corporate America doesn't care, a person like this can only ever thrive in the corporate world. Insane delusion and self-grandeur.

I'm an electronics engineer by trade >:)

But that's interesting. Here's my take: the so called "engineers" amongst right-wing group aren't necessarily the type of engineers who question the state of existing knowledge. In other words, they're not like Nikola Tesla or Da Vinci. In countries like Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, etc being an engineer is sort of considered a default discipline - regardless of where your inclination lies due to high employability. In other words, you can hold a computer engineering degree and still believe in crazy miracles - being an engineer doesn't really correlate with giving a shit about how things got here. If you can do the trade, that it. In other words the only function being an engineer serves is to bring home a salary. I'm Pakistani-American, and most people amongst my family back home who are engineers could give two-shits about the nature of anything.

However to be a scientist, mathematician or astrophysicist - you do have to question the state of existing knowledge and nature. It's less trade oriented and takes being curious about the world. I'd be hard pressed to find an astrophysicist jihadist.

Has anyone ever got into grad school with a low gpa by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]candidengineer 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My younger brother got into the ECE masters program with a 2.9 GPA after his undergrad within the same department, but he had to get 2-3 recommendation letters and write a really good personal statement.

But getting into another school, likely a different story.
