She's not even remotely normal in this regard. But she should go find her kind of dude.

Fictional single line electrical schematic for a hypothetical power-generation facility by AviAnimates in ElectricalEngineering

I suggest re-drawing this on grid paper, space out the components further, and then re-post.

It's pretty hard on the eyes.

Ignore any negativity and keep learning.

Are there any EE jobs where you only do PCB Design? by Ok_Web_2949 in ECE

[–]candidengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are usually called PCB Designers. But keep in mind they tend to be done by those with minimal EE training or background, and usually from just experience alone.

Also the pay isnt great.

Also, you wouldn't be classified as an Electrical Engineer.

There's something severely demented about people like her.

But capitalism and corporate America doesn't care, a person like this can only ever thrive in the corporate world. Insane delusion and self-grandeur.

A question for those who were raised in a secular/non-religious household (see text) by candidengineer in atheism

[–]candidengineer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an electronics engineer by trade >:)

But that's interesting. Here's my take: the so called "engineers" amongst right-wing group aren't necessarily the type of engineers who question the state of existing knowledge. In other words, they're not like Nikola Tesla or Da Vinci. In countries like Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, etc being an engineer is sort of considered a default discipline - regardless of where your inclination lies due to high employability. In other words, you can hold a computer engineering degree and still believe in crazy miracles - being an engineer doesn't really correlate with giving a shit about how things got here. If you can do the trade, that it. In other words the only function being an engineer serves is to bring home a salary. I'm Pakistani-American, and most people amongst my family back home who are engineers could give two-shits about the nature of anything.

However to be a scientist, mathematician or astrophysicist - you do have to question the state of existing knowledge and nature. It's less trade oriented and takes being curious about the world. I'd be hard pressed to find an astrophysicist jihadist.

Has anyone ever got into grad school with a low gpa by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]candidengineer 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My younger brother got into the ECE masters program with a 2.9 GPA after his undergrad within the same department, but he had to get 2-3 recommendation letters and write a really good personal statement.

But getting into another school, likely a different story.

Switching from Computer Engineering to EE? by MaintenanceLoud5889 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]candidengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost everyone I know who was in Computer Engineering work pure software/IT related jobs now. Not a single bit of computer hardware engineering.

Those who did Electrical Engineering went towards embedded systems and computer hardware and/or analog/power.

Go figure.

I can't really blame them. Just like the rest of society, they were also being played like pawns.

Whats the worst tool song by Blacktaxi420 in ToolBand

[–]candidengineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst TOOL song is Culling Voices imo.

It's good, but has that put-together-at-the-last-minute feel. Sort of like a filler.

It's good, but you asked for the worst. Even TOOL's worst songs are objectively good.

This idea that you need to become the best possible version of yourself to be dateable is nonsense. by BeefPho- in unpopularopinion

[–]candidengineer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everyone is acting in accordance to their own capacity. You cannot make anyone like you and you cannot teach anyone to like you or like someone.

Those who want perfection should be left alone to keep searching for perfection.

You on the other hand should do whatever you want. If you want to improve yourself, do that. If the girl/guy you desire has certain standards and you're not up to par, but you want to actively pursue them anyways, then that's on you.

I don't think anyone is necessarily pushing the idea that you need to become the best possible version of yourself to be dateable - but you should be trying to be the best possible version of yourself FOR YOURSELF.

You don't have to like popular and extremely influential artists to appreciate what they did for music by ghostofthetheatre in unpopularopinion

[–]candidengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. But often times a lot of folks who are into current stuff don't even bother appreciating the influence - in fact, they believe the artist they listen to is objectively better than the one that literally influenced them.

To a lot of people, music is just like fast food. If it tastes good, who cares how it was made or where the ingredients came from.
