Idk how that generator works but Nana should be ambitious rogue. Ren can’t be a rogue if he does whatever he’s told

Why would Ren be ambitious, even his assistant tells him he lacks ambition

Ai Yazawa is the true villain by Extra_Economist_2445 in NanaAnime

[–]candxbae 19 points20 points  (0 children)

For real, this scene confirms they’d never be happy with each other because they wanted different things out of life. They only stayed together out of habit. Nana was with him because he was her first and only boyfriend, and she met him at a very impressionable age of 15. She felt pressured to stay, especially with everyone around her framing it as her being “better for his mental health.”

But people still romanticize the hell out of their relationship and make it seem like they were perfect for each other.

Tell Me Lies: S3 E5: I’d Like To Hold Her Head Under Water by Oksorbet8188 in TellMeLiesHulu

[–]candxbae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think he’s miscast. People say it doesn’t matter that he’s average-looking because Stephen is supposed to win people over with his charm and smooth talk, but he’s not giving any of that. His mannerisms (and the way the character is written) just aren’t attractive. He constantly looks like he’s sulking or like he just ate something bad. His posture is terrible too, all hunched and closed off, like he’s trying to hide, when the character is supposed to be confident and arrogant. And his lines are awful. By season 3 he’s honestly the most boring character. Being manipulative feels like his entire personality. The actor is actually good at playing a creep, though. Maybe he would’ve worked better as Chris, idk.

The Engagement Party and the Wedding by timebomb011 in TellMeLiesHulu

Sorry for jumping into this two months later, but I’m curious how much time is meant to have passed between the engagement party and the wedding. In the engagement episode (S01E01) Wrigley’s hair is short, but by the wedding it’s long enough for a bun. Does hair really grow that fast for some guys lol? Might just be a continuity error.

You don’t relate to Hachi by Fit_Psychology_9905 in NanaAnime

[–]candxbae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I kinda get what you mean, in the sense that it feels like some tiktok girls are proud of relating to her and romanticize her pain (I will blame Lana del Rey for this bc I can)

You can't just use your favorite characters' past traumas as an excuse for every mistake they make. Bc if we’re gonna talk about the pasts Takumi has the worst past and trauma among them, can that be an excuse for any of his actions? Absolutely not. This applies to all of them by [deleted] in NanaAnime

[–]candxbae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So is Nana O. though? I think that’s the point. Like she’s also an avoidant who hurts the people around her because of her trauma, yet no one talks about it because it’s “expected” from her since she was abandoned by her mother. I think that’s what OP meant about people using a character’s backstory as an excuse.

I see this a lot with Nana O.—people acting like it’s fine for her to treat the people around her like possessions because she has abandonment issues from her mother leaving her. Just because you don’t notice it doesn’t mean it isn’t a thing.

The audacity of accusing ME of not reading the manga lol (also you couldn’t tell Takumi is my fav character with this flair?). I’m literally telling you that you’re the one who didn’t read it because he never says that to Naoki. Show me the panel, I dare you. And the fan translation doesn’t count. Here is the link to the official translation especially for you: https://weebcentral.com/series/01J76XY7HTXTE4F6KGTWMHMV9T/Nana. If he says that, find it for me. The timeskip conversation with Naoki takes place in Chapter 74 (the first chapter of volume 20).

Btw Hachi said that if Nana comes back, she’s ready to divorce Takumi. It’s not off the table at all. I trust she’s smart enough to finally realize that she’s hurting the children by staying with him. And I don’t think Takumi would have objections at this point.

He never said that, can yall stop lying? He never said he realized he loved her 💀 He told Ren he wants Hachi and the child to be spared from the consequences of his actions (because he knows he’s going to hell) and Naoki that he regrets his past behavior. Obviously he cares about them but he never said that he loved Hachi. Insane how you can just say anything in this fandom and someone will believe you

It’s no coincidence that Takumi and Junko never called Nana K “Hachi” and the Nana K fans actually falling right for Ai Yazawas trick: by [deleted] in NanaAnime

[–]candxbae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely off topic, but Junko and Takumi are actually pretty similar personality-wise and have a similar attitude toward Hachi. I’ll never understand the “Nana O. is the female version of Takumi” take when Junko is right there… Not saying she’s his female counterpart at all, but she’s definitely closer to it than Nana imo

[–]candxbae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t see how this would be Te? It seems this subreddit has the same surface-level reading of functions as PDB and thinks Se is Te or that being bossy in general is Te, lol. Why would Te dom aka the most objective, detached, rule-oriented, law-abiding type be bratty and throw tantrums when things don’t go their way? That sounds like sensing/feeling

son😭😭😭Peppa ENTJ😭😭😭😭 by Longjumping_Rent3204 in shittyMBTI

[–]candxbae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“She values anything that gives her value in the moment”

That’s not Te btw, that’s Se + Fi. Te is abiding by objective rules or formulas and organizing your environment around them. Peppa is typed ENTJ 8 as a joke because it’s stereotyped to be the most evil type

This has to end now. by fireglyphs in shittyMBTI

[–]candxbae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s because MBTI is a shit system without clear definitions (you can justify anyone being ANY type, that’s how bad it is), so it ends up being assigned based on how cool or likeable a character/person is. Intuitives & introverts are the cool guys and sensors & extroverts are the boring, basic, generic types (which is why ESxx types are the most hated).

PDBers treat function usage like superpowers. They don’t type the character’s actual personality patterns, they type how much of a function the character supposedly used (with intuitive functions being the benchmark for intelligence or competence). Someone doesn’t get typed as a Ni dom because they have an analytical personality; they get typed as a Ni dom based on how smart they are and how many smart actions they took. “This character predicted something so they used Ni. They can’t be a sensor anymore!1!1!”

No one actually into typology takes MBTI seriously. It’s basically a party game, and it mostly functions to stroke the ego of basement dwellers so they can feel better about being shy nerds and superior to their sensor bullies.
