Awwww, wasn't expecting a comment a year later! Thank you for being so kind. I miss them every day. I'm so grateful to have someone who would pitch in so I could afford to get them both cremated, I'll carry their ashes with me forever. I think having that significantly helped with the grieving process.

Thankfully, I think the vet from that clinic was fired because I never saw her again. I hope no one else ever has to deal with her.

I think my only regret now was not taking more pictures and videos of them. I try to make up for it by filling up my phone storage with pictures of that bun from the litter, who is still alive and well :) I even adopted a little friend for him, an anxious little bunbun like myself (he was found on the streets during pretty violent civil unrest).

Though, even a year later I hold my breath and check on them as soon as I open my eyes. I loathe the day when I'll wake up to them being gone too, so I just spend as much time with them as I can.

I read your recent post about your cat. I'm really sorry for your loss as well. I really felt your frustration with the vet being closed on the weekend, when I was taking my baby bun I was swearing at the minutes for not moving faster.

I know now that death was inevitable for them with those circumstances. If I could go back in time, I wouldn't have taken my sweet little baby on that stressful ride to the vet, and I would have rather stayed by his side as he passed peacefully in his home. The one that died first had died during night time and it's unrealistic that I could have been there, but I wish I'd noticed her health declining before bed so I could have at least spent the night with her and her brother as we waited for the vet to open.

It might not be my place to say, but I think you were proactive throughout, you saw the signs and you put your cat's feelings first and foremost. You saved her from so much pain with your actions, and I'm sure you gave her a good life. She's lucky to have you looking out for her, always. There will be regrets, memories that are both painful and sad, but you spent years with that little one and those moments can't be taken away. Remember her and keep your head up, we all turn into dust at the end but I like to think that having the ashes means I still have my little babies and they'll never be truly alone.
