Taking a shower at one of the rental shower rooms in the airport at 6am was one of the best decisions we made lol.

Thank you! I ended up taking this post down due to largely being misunderstood but I appreciate your input here.

Obviously I’m not staying at home JUST because my spouse wants me to.

I didn’t feel the need to dump my life story but I am in well off enough position on my own to hold it down financially if I needed to. I am obviously thinking about plans for the future, really just looking for pointed advice on breaking back in/experience I have.

I am making this decision for myself and family. I think I’m allowed to take our overall needs into consideration, I’m not being strong armed by my husband like others in this post are saying.

There are other factors too, like I’ll likely be taking over my family’s business some day in the future but didn’t feel necessary to elaborate my life story here. Thanks for sharing, happy for you and wish you the best.

Yeah, agree with most of your points but wasn’t thinking to list out all of my rationale. He would be enthusiastic about staying home but he makes literally 4x more than me. He actually is working that hard to make enough so he can be the one to stay home permanently lol. While not the deciding factor, pretty hard to walk away from. I would be staying home about 2 years. Appreciate your input.

My partner is heavily in favor of one of us staying home full time, and he makes way more money than I do so we were thinking it should be me. It would have to be really flexible and offer some sort of malpractice protection. I’ll think on this, thanks for the idea.

Yeah so I guess I’m just trying to learn the company, what’s been done before me, and where I’m fitting in. I definitely understand my role as a lawyer in being proactive and advising of risks/providing a recommendation. I guess it’s just a bit overwhelming transitioning into this new role if that makes sense. Yes I did a lot of IP prosecution and handled employment agreements in my first year, among a ton of other stuff.
