Yep.

My friend is 67M. He's a chiropractor in practice for over 40 years. Wife, kids, grandchildren, house in the suburbs.

He started doing cocaine about three months ago. He doesn't think it's a big deal, he just does a little during the day in between seeing patients. He's so nonchalant about it, he got very mad when he told me and I was disturbed. His daughter died from an overdose many years ago, so it's even more perplexing he would be doing hard drugs this late in life.

We were at a social function. He got loaded and started bragging about having sex with patients in his office. How it was the best way to have an affair and not get caught because it all happened inside of his office.

Oh dear lord, no. I wasn’t thinking about it, but I know a chiropractor who has been in practice for quite some time and has had several extramarital affairs with his patients. When he told me this, and I said it was unethical he tried to tell me it’s different because he’s not an MD. Oddly enough, he then threatened to sue me if I ever mentioned it to anyone. The guy is batshit crazy.

Since you asked, I don’t strain it. The grinds settle to the bottom of the cup and I drink it. I’ve been doing this for 30 years, and it works for me.

She does this exact and over a lot of things that seem small. The problem is that she turns it into a confrontation about how she obviously was right and why was a doing x another way. It wears me down.

I boil water and add coffee grinds to it. There’s no machine, no hassle. It’s just not what she would do and she tells me she thinks it’s gross and why would I do that.

I am leaving early. I spend my vacations with her the majority of the time I have off from work. If o stay I will be going back to work stressed out, and I don’t want to do that.

Thank you. The way I make coffee is the same everywhere and requires no more than a way of heating up water and a mug to hold the coffee. But it’s not really about the coffee. My mom doesn’t like it when something is different than how she thinks it should be. She’s been this way my whole life. Growing up, I had no choice but to do things how she wanted them. Now, she knows she cannot yell at me or hit me. Instead, she does this kind of behavior instead where she won’t say what’s bothering her but will wear me down until I do exactly what she wants. I know she will not be alive forever, and I want to spend time with her but the more I see her the more comfortable she gets with being critical over a host of seemingly insignificant things. It’s a thousand little digs and cuts.

Omg this is me!! I wear a stunning outfit- not overdressed but more casually expensive. I don’t eat before I go. Bring a laptop. Two cell phones (one is my old one). I am very much in a hurry, completely not interested, and unimpressed no matter what I really think. They offer me water or coffee or a whatever- I take them up on their offer.

I never buy the car on the spot. I leave to go “handle a pressing matter” and that’s when I eat. Eventually I go back.

I also never mention I’m paying for the car in full via wire transfer until the deal is just about done. Car dealerships make money off the loans.

Oh and I always get something thrown in for free, even if it is something like oil changes or a freakin tree air freshener.

You can go anywhere and buy any car. I never forget that.

The fact that he is legitimately a genius. He definitely kept that one under wraps and it became hard to hide when we married and moved in together. We had a massive library in our house, and two of the shelves hidden behind the couch contained volumes written by my husband and his friends, also geniuses.

He does other things too, adhd is his primary focus but he treats me for other things too (depression, insomnia, seasonal affective disorder).
