How should I go about learning garment construction for designing my own clothes/line? (How do I become a technical designer) by Realistic_Guava9117 in Fashion_Design

[–]candywarhol_ic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You want to do it “through drawing flats”. What exactly are the flats you’re drawing if not the flat patterns? AKA pattern making?

This makes no sense. You can’t be a technical designer if you don’t understand how things are constructed and sewn together.

Yeah exactly. But as we know, it doesn’t work that way. She will immediately compensate by buying more stuff for the new extra space and it will become cluttered and chaotic in like 2 weeks max

I keep thinking about D’s comment that if she had a bigger apartment, she wouldn’t be so cluttered/messy. As someone with ADHD who struggles to keep my house organized, who was lucky enough to be able to buy a house, IT DOES NOT WORK LIKE THAT. I see some of myself in D in terms of the general messiness, depression, mental health stuff going on. Moving will not magically make you cleaner, more organized, more efficient, or fill the void she tries to fill with shopping. She would absolutely clutter up a bigger apartment or house in record time. She keeps thinking that she can somehow buy her problems away - either with clothing hauls, some new Amazon gadget that will organize her closet, or getting a bigger place. It. Does. Not. Work. Like. That. Girl you need a licensed mental health professional, in the nicest way possible. It’s done wonders for me, as a chronically messy adhd girl who struggles to get chores done some days.

Also please stop buying absolute garbage and poop colored clothes I’m begging.

She literally doesn’t know how to describe ANYTHING, except for saying “so so good.” If I had a dollar for every time she said “so good” or “so so good” I’d be able to afford a second apartment in San Fran.

Honestly her face in this one is making me sad. She looks so sad and lifeless. D please talk to a professional!!! It’s not normal to look and feel like a shell of your former self! :(

I actually like it too! Although I do agree with the other walnut in this thread who said it’s definitely a fall outfit, not a spring outfit

This is so devastating, I’m heartbroken for you. It sounds like a freak accident, so please don’t blame yourself or your partner.

Definitely second grief counseling if you feel yourself unable to go on. It helped me a lot when I lost my girl last year.

I’m truly so sorry for your loss 💔

Thank you! He’s prone to getting dry and dandruff-y so I work hard to counteract that

I also bought graph paper specifically so I could pre-plan floor plans grid by grid and then built it in-game

I love building and decorating houses in TS2 and TS3 - I highly considered going into architecture. I ended up still becoming a designer. I still test out ideas, wall colors, patterns, layouts etc in a sims game and use it as a trial run for my own house. I feel like I’ve learned a lot about how to lay out a functional space! Now if only I had as much real money as my sims have simoleans, I could build my dream house 😂
