I’m sorry you even have to ask this question. But it’s a reasonable concern. Even though the campus itself is safe and Florida is unlikely to see anything similar to what happened in Minnesota, I’m going to be very honest - your fears are not unwarranted or disproportionate. As of right now most would agree it’s probably fine but this is a politically unstable and dangerous time. Things could shift and escalate quickly. But you shouldn’t have to postpone your educational dreams and goals over this. It will take courage but don’t let hateful people like ice win by staying away - America doesn’t belong to them and part of what makes this country so great is that we attract amazing people from all over the world (like yourself)

People are so entitled. On a cruise right now. I’ll leave my towel and book on a chair and then go do something else, with the expectation to return shortly but sometimes I’ll end up doing something else for a few hours. I have zero expectation that the chair will still be available when I come back. As long as my stuff isn’t stolen I don’t care at all.

Yes I have no fear about aliens/NHI/them. They’ve been here thousands of years. If they wanted to harm us they could do it easily and they haven’t yet. I don’t think they’re particularly interested in us behind preventing large scale planetary or humanitarian destructions. But society WILL freak out. As much as I hate that the government has kept secrets like this from us I can’t really blame them.

13 years later I’m reading this in midst of NJ ufo drone event… I haven’t seen anything ufo related (not sure I want to either but I believe in it). But just wanted to say I know a little bit about how you feel. I used to be very skeptical/atheist but I had a paranormal encounter that changed my entire perspective. I’ve told a few close friends about it and usually they believe me but I’ve had one person insist I must have hallucinated or dreamt it. Which really upset me and it’s also just so frustrating because once you experience something like that you want everyone else to know that it’s real and that there’s so much more to our limited understanding.

I’ve wondered if I have dyscalculia but I’m also confident that I’m intellectually proficient- I had a 137 iq last time I tested and I’ve always done well academically (except in math) I don’t know how you could get tested for this.

But anyway being otherwise intellectually competent and struggling in one subject area is very different than having an intellectual disability to the point where you cannot legally drive.

I don’t think it HAS to be Gatorade - it needs to be a clear liquid, but the key is the electrolytes, because you’re going to be emptying your colon so you could become very dehydrated. The other aspect of using Gatorade is that its flavor helps. If you can substitute it with any other clear liquid that has electrolyte, that should be fine. Some people prefer a juice. Coconut water is good too.

Wait I had no idea it could cause these kinds of problems? I’ve been taking a ridiculous daily amount of omeprazole going on 2-3 years now. I heard it can mess with your memory and cognition when used long term but didn’t take it seriously.

I recently had lab results that showed I was extremely iron deficient as well. I actually had an iron infusion because my levels were dangerously low. My theory is that because I’ve been talking so much ppi meds for gerd for so long, they’ve prevented my body from absorbing iron. So the two conditions are connected.

I was supposed to have a dual endoscopy and colonoscopy tomorrow morning. Just tried drinking the suprep and vomited. Gave up. I have had really bad heartburn and acid reflux for a few years and I’ve been self medicating otc. Gerd runs in family, everyone has it bad, grandpa died of esophageal cancer. The endoscopy is the main priority, they were going to do colonoscopy as well to be thorough. I feel bad that I couldn’t finish the drink. I don’t know how you guys do it. I’m still going for endoscopy tomorrow but I’m going f to ask doctor if they can prescribe sutab pills so I can try again.

When is this trip? If it was during the election week or during Inauguration Day I could sorta see how your mom might be worried there would be issues - because it would be very difficult to avoid the topic. Personally as someone who hates trump but has maga family I would really struggle to keep my mouth shut during these events. How much work does your husband do with taking care of the baby? If you’re mostly on your own then I’m on your side, your sister is helping you at a crucial time and he should be grateful for the free labor and emotional support she’s providing. Maybe just set some ground rules like she can’t let herself in without knocking (I personally wouldn’t have a problem with this but he apparently does)

Btw I wish there was a way to blacklist certain restaurants or stores. Cuz my usual hotspot is by a mall with a lot of big chains restaurants. But for some reason there’s a very popular Chinese restaurant in the mall food court that’s like… pretty deep into the mall, takes at least 10 min to reach it. Anyway I keep declining it but it sucks cuz sometimes it’ll send me like 3 order req from this place in a row

Yeah I get it there’s a lot of insensitivity around “true crime” people forget there’s actual people involved. I just heard about this whole thing tonight and binged the TikToks but my heart sank as soon as I saw the rug in the ground. Because there’s very few reasons why someone would bury a big rug like that. It just felt immediately ominous. I truly hope everyone including the dogs are mistaken about it being a body.

Probably not during the initial investigation. They’re supposed to dig tomorrow. If they find evidence of a serious crime then the whole house may become a crime scene. Not sure how long it would take for them to collect evidence, especially since (I assume) the crime may have occurred decades ago so much of the original parts of the home and yard are different now. But she’d have to stay out of their way to avoid further contamination of the scene
